Indian Laurel fretboard. Made in China $1500 That's a hard NO
@B-DueceTre2 ай бұрын
Wow! Sounds awesome, for $1500 I absolutely agree about the use of indian laurel. While I like indian laurel just fine, when I make an investment for this amount I expect Rosewood. The fender american performer has been rosewood, and even the cheapest Gibson Les Pauls as well. Just seems like your getting short changed for this price point. Make it $1000, even $1099 and I may be able to look past it, especially as you pointed out that the PRS SE line & Fender Player II are providing rosewood at a fraction of the cost of this guitar.

I have the Epi 63 FBV and the Indian laurel fretboard on mine is pretty dark and looks just like rosewood. It can vary and I’ve seen ones that don’t look like rosewood, but mine actually does. Actually it’s even darker than some of my Les Paul’s. That aside, I agree that Epiphone should be using rosewood on these pricier guitars. Especially since Fender is doing it on the much cheaper player ii series.
