Dang, I want a Gibson so badly!!! I was only able to save up for an Epiphone which I upgraded, but I know for a matter of fact that it plays darn well!

Les Paul for sure. But Teles are just amazing. I even somewhat prefer the tone of the LP on your samples, although both are just stellar.

NAMM. Originality costs! So tired of $$$$$. Or, having to look "off shore" for the best value. Ugh. Nice walk through. Thx.

Is there any Epiphone stuff in the Gibson section? I saw an article about a spec update to the Kalamazoo headstock LP Custom and I noticed that multiple models, such as the aforementioned Custom and the Standard 60s/50s, are discontinued on Epiphone’s site. I’m very curious to see what Epiphone has up their sleeve.

This repair looks like it would cost as much a new guitar. But if you love your guitar, priceless repair. Wished I had apprenticed a luthier growing up man. I can fix strats/bolt ons all day, but this stuff, won't even touch it lol

i`ve had an original 61 reissue and it seems that these new 61 standards have a slimmer and overall smaller headstock - just found some pics of my old 61 and compared them to the new ones. the edges of the original headstock were kinda more pointy and sharp as well. wonder if the new ones are as good as the originals in terms of playability and overall neck feel. was just about to order one from a local store cause cannot go there at the moment and have a touch of it, but something stopped me) the original 61 Reissue was the best guitar i ve had in terms of neck comfort, and i ve had a lot and mostly les pauls)

If you spend that much money on an epiphone or Gibson then your last IQ test clearly came back negative. Everybody else makes a better Les Paul than Gibson.

I thought the springs are not supposed to angle in and should be connected straight ( parallel ) onto the trem block. Is that how it comes from fender.

I can usually tell when an LP custom is refretted, because the neck binding covers the fret ends on original frets. Upon a refret, the binding is usually sanded flat and the frets lay on top of it

I have one of the AVII 57 strats (the blonde ash one) and it's DEFINITELY a thick coat of poly. It took over a year of playing it almost every day to really get it to wear in. Definitely not an issue of being period correct for a 57 strat, I think the AVII line just has a pretty thick coat of modern nitro on it (there's also almost certainly a poly undercoat).

It appears to me that Tele has a much fuller clean sound but that is also the weakness. Strat has a muffy sound at bridge but it works perfectly with fuzz-ish effect. But it seems to me the strat is barely used at bridge position in the demo, so I’d say hss strat is a better deal
