Epiphone ( and Squier too I guess ) had to come up with alternatives when rosewood was "outlawed" by the CITES organization back in 2017...Indian Laurel, Pau ferro, jatoba, baked maple etc were their other choices, even if rosewood is no longer an endangered species ( at least in the guitar industry ) I suppose that Epiphone can't just throw away all their stocks of laurel and other woods or simply breach contracts with their suppliers... It would make sense for them to only use their stocks of rosewood on very limited series or any Epiphone USA models... That said I agree...At this price we should get rosewood fingerboards... I'm getting one of these anyway 🙂🙂

I did buy one and really wanted to love this guitar. It is obviously a great guitar but mine was not. I really just think it was a lemon. I have been playing and collecting guitars for over 50 years and have probably owned close to 200 guitars over the years. I own epiphones that I love dearly, Gibsons, Fenders and many others. The Guitar was UNPLAYABLE out of the box. It came from a company that just moves the boxes, no inspection like that big sweet company in the mid-west. The frets were so scratchy you could hear the strings scraping across the frets as you played. It would not stay in tune for even 1 song, but with the cheap plastic saddles and nut its no wonder, and yes they ARE plastic even though they have another name for it. The biggest surprise was how aweful it sounded. Again, I think there was something wrong with it, the pickups moved around and shook back and fourth so much I had to shim them to stop them from moving around. Its a great looking guitar but my guitar was a total pile, I think the worst guitar I had ever bought and I have owned every brand made just about twice.dont know why they didnt put a quality nut ans bridge on it, hope you have better luck I pity the person who buys the one I sent back..

Epiphone baby!! You GIBSON fanboys read this..That's absolutely correct! Les Paul's vision for a solid-body electric guitar began taking shape with "The Log" in 1939-1941, in collaboration with Epiphone. "The Log" was essentially a 4x4 pine post with a neck and homemade pickups. Les Paul's experimentation with "The Log" led to refinement and eventual partnership with Gibson Guitars. Gibson's Ted McCarty, influenced by Les Paul's design, created the iconic Gibson Les Paul model in 1952. Key milestones: 1. 1939-1941: Les Paul and Epiphone develop "The Log." 2. 1941: Les Paul showcases "The Log" to Gibson, but they initially reject the idea. 3. 1952: Gibson, inspired by Les Paul's design, releases the first Gibson Les Paul model. Your contribution highlights the significance of Les Paul's pioneering work and the evolution of the solid-body electric guitar! Would you like more information on guitar innovation or Les Paul's legacy?

We don't pay anything to Hetfield, Hammet and Faulkner, but people are gonna buy them anyway. Put the cheapest pickups in, cause EMGs will go in first day, sell them for 700-800 bucks, we couldn't make them fast enough?' Also put expensive American pickups in them, eventhough customers will swap them for EMGs. 1500 bucks...' I love this whole "Inspired by Gibson" scam Epiphone has going to crank up the prices on their Chinese-made guitars. First, when you think of high quality don't you immediately think of China? Second, aren't all of Epiphone's guitars copied from... er, I mean, inspired by Gibson? I guess the real point is for Epiphone to move into Gibson's "under $5,000" bracket while Gibson continues to put out mediocre instruments for $10,000 and up.
