You always make the best sayings! “Goat Off-road Headquarters”. “Land Adventure Mobile” and now “1 Ton of Fun”. You know I’ll probably use that somewhere. Probably on Instagram- so you’ll never see it 😂 Those axles are BIG! And are going to look huge under the Goat! We’re keeping the stance as narrow as possible- we don’t like the “bulldog”- as I call it. People have cheered us to 10k but never 100k! I like the way you think 😎 Already editing for next Thursday 4pm PST! There is a big surprise ahead!!! 🙌🎉🎊 Thank you for being such an awesome fan! We’ll see you in September! ❤️🐞

i did a dana 60 teardown on my f250, the hardest part was that damn snap ring. i went through 3 different pairs of pliers until the snap on ice cream truck came around my shop. I spent the money on good snap ring pliers and they came right off. such a pain in the butt.

I cleaned my axle up with a wire brush before i tore it all the way down. It got rid of the rust, dirt, and grime. It made it prettier while working on it. 🙂 I am all ready for my front stiffeners to be welded on, i am just waiting on someone to weld them.
@GoatOffroad2 жыл бұрын
Wire brush works but when you have a pressure washer - quicker and more fun 😂 Today begins frame stiffeners 🤦♀️ We’re doing them ourselves but my shop said he’s having to charge 14 hours of labor to install them for a customer. 😳 No Thanks! I think we have the right tools for the job and hopefully we’ll be able to get a good start on them. I completely understand wanting someone else to do it, but there’s 3 of us. Wish us luck 😂

I would highly reccomend using OX lockers. They are the only ones that can be used even if something goes wrong. I think they call it their "drive out" feature.
@GoatOffroad2 жыл бұрын
OX Lockers are great! No doubt about it. But we would want the cable engagement style and we don’t have the real estate. There are air/electric options but that is more money. We’re getting a good deal of the ones we chose - so it’s hard to pass it up. Builds are expensive as you know 😂

if it was me building it I would probably do 5.13s and an Eaton e-locker. in the circle of friends I run with the eating e-locker seems to have less trouble than any of the other e-lockers lockers, the ARB would also be a good choice as long as the line is routed correctly

1 ton axles are heavy! Lol. What are you guys doing for the brakes? I put hydroboost on my Cherokee and massive brakes front and rear I went kinda crazy on brakes with my new setup. But if you guys end up not liking the brakes or having issues the first thing I would do is take the proportioning valve guts out of a grand cherokee zj with rear disc it's very simple and there's lots of stuff online about doing it i think its a must when going to rear disc but some people leave it. You guys have a good brake booster your not really gonna get a better vacuum booster than the 95+ dual diaphragm xj booster. Some people use the master cylinder out of a dodge e350 van, the van one is shorter so you want the van one. I've actually preferred the stock 95+ master cylinder in a lot of situations, the larger bore van master cylinder will give you a stiffer pedal with less travel it really depends on the piston size on your calipers and how you prefer your pedal to feel. I've messed with a lot of cherokee brakes and I always use the 95+ booster and master cylinder it's a good upgrade on the older models. My current setup with the hydroboost is a wilwood 1-1/8" master cylinder with a wilwood adjustable combination proportioning valve. If you guys had issues with the rears locking up even with the zj proportioning valve you could install an inline adjustable proportioning valve which should take care of any sort of issue with the rears locking up. All this stuff is actually pretty simple, I thought I'd mention something to get you guys thinking about brakes if you haven't already. It's well worth getting the brakes dialed in perfect, you guys are gonna love having the bigger brakes.
@GoatOffroad2 жыл бұрын
We haven’t decided on brakes yet. But Thank you for the info! If we have any questions we may reach out to you. You have good info 👍
@forreststrong7972 жыл бұрын
@@GoatOffroad I'd be happy to help you guys if you need it, getting the brakes working right can be a real pain if your not familiar with everything but once you know what's going on its actually pretty simple. I think the hardest part for some people is making hard lines and hoses if you need to change things, but I actually really enjoy doing that stuff and making it look nice.

I know people love ARB lockers and they are a great product, BUT every trip i have ever gone on with people with ARB lockers, they are never working properly. There is always an air leak or the pump stops working or they have no idea why but they aren't engaging. I like my automatic lockers because they have never not worked, never!
@GoatOffroad2 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with automatic lockers 😄 and we’ve never had problems with our ARB. However they were installed by a fantastic mechanic who stands by his work 🤗

Interesting. We used and abused ours and never a problem. But, like Bug said we had a guy that specializes in off road builds install our gears and lockers. Maybe something to it?!?
@ProjectXJ2 жыл бұрын
@@dieseldirt3994 yeah, i think a little time and you might start having problems. One guy was blowing gear oil out his vent tube everytime his compressor kicked on. Turned out one of the seals started to leak in his ARB and it wouldn't engage anymore. If i ever got a selectable locker, it would probably be electric. But i am too poor for any upgrades right now. 😀
