I'm only 15min into the video and Mr. Snyder has already given a wealth of information! I wish I could go on a hunt with you guys - I'd learn a ton of stuff. Thank you very much for these videos and yes, I've subscribed!

Aron has a great attitude when educating or giving advice. never black or white.. Much appreciated and nice change in the market of hunting gear etc.

Joey Novack II I agree! I like that Aron gives me an honest answer--not some watered down sponsor-induced answer. And I like that his answers are backed by experienced rather than conjecture. Thanks Joey!

I've heard of these podcasts but only started listening recently! I've discovered I like seeing what other people are using as much as I like using mine, and recently I've decided a few extra items in the pack can make it easier to stay on the mountain! Great work guys Aaron is a hoot, love listening!

Another huge tip, nine times out of 10 I know where I'm hunting and it usually just sitting on a bench for a whole week spotting elk, A lot of these places do not have water around them and I am forced to pack water. During the summer months I will pack water in and bury it I have also been known to pack in other essentials and buried them, I've never had any problems and it sure as hell saves on the packet in to hunt. I have always believed this was a huge benefit.

I packed a sealable drum 3 miles into the wilderness and keep the heavy essentials there, so when I go in all I have to bring is propane canisters and some food (beer). There is plenty of water where I hunt even above tree line, so I bring a Sawyer filter or a Platypus. The river through my camp is a cool 40* in the summer so it doubles as my cooler and meat preserver while I pack an animal back out. We you the one who asked about hunting the San Juans on a previous podcast? My camp is near Silverton.

Preparing food from home and taking it with you allows you to have a taste of home. It helps you feel more comfortable and most important not get sick off of any other kind of food because you never change your diet by taking cooked/prepared meals from home. I love beef barley soup I make that and hydrate it the same as Aaron I also make a pork dried salami it's an Italian recipe and that stuff is packed full of protein. The emergency C packets are incredible they are must-have along with your multivitamin and I couldn't agree more about the fish oil however anytime I'm in the woods I get so excited it's never a problem to take a shit. Also another thing I did not hear mentioned is a blender there are so many things you can do with the blender to condense the size of your food like Aaron states don't matter what it looks like if it gets the job done...

Just recently started listening to the gritty bowmen podcast. great stuff guys. Question i would love to go to a show that has several pack manufacturers represented. I know that's not happening in Texas. Any idea of the closest show to Dallas that would have some good representation or should I plan a Vegas trip for a big show there?

Dustin Smith I know, I know! iTunes gets pretty ornery about language in podcasts--if you have anything "questionable" in your podcast you have to give it an 'E' rating for explicit. I was in a hurry to get this podcast done before taking off to Alaska for my bear hunt and I just didn't have time to find out whether buttonhole would get me into trouble or not. I don't want to classify any of these podcasts as 'E' --there are a lot of podcasts out their rated 'E' but there are not that many who make the effort to keep it semi clean for all audiences. In hindsight, butthole is probably fine but I didn't want to risk it with iTunes.
