Whoa! Had no idea this was going to become about detrans, lol. I desisted and have been learning about AGP for the past year. I'm genuinely having a hard time knowing where I relate, if I'm AGP or if I relate more to the ROGD idea. You are right about a lot of detrans and desisters playing dumb, as if they had no motivations besides being brainwashed into transition. I don't buy it either. Great episode.

42:30 Tali asked whether AAP in females would be correlated with androgenization/masculinization. My hunch is yes, and my reasoning is that paraphilias occur more often in males so they seem correlated with masculinization. Since AAP is a paraphilia, i would expect it to be correlated with masculinization.

Yeah but gynephilia is also correlated with masculinization. And the evidence for that in all different intersex conditions (5ARD, CAIS, honosexuality rates increasing with severity of CAH subtype) is stronger for causality imo

@@brunolevilevi5054 Yes gynephilia is also correlated with masculinization. It would be cool if researchers started asking study participants about cross-gender eroticism so that the homosexuals and autosexuals could be categorized more effectively.

i diy orchi'd myself many years ago. that was my reaction to the idea that autistic people can't be real transsexuals and can't transition. i had an Asperger diagnosis before transitioning, and i couldn't "pass" as NT. i was aware of the Blanchard typology at the time, and also the theory that autistic people have "extreme male brains". absolutely no one "affirmed" or encouraged me before i had already (diy) started transitioning. when i was already on hormones, people started to see me as a "naturally" feminine person, so i started to get more support, and i eventually got through the gatekeepers too. i don't know how common this path is though. it's possible that the majority of autistic AGP's can be discouraged by not being taken seriously. but not sure
