Great job again you guys. Brian, since you are nearing the 200 episode mark, please tell me that #200 will be the Idaho hunt where you took the wolf. Make #200 epic. #showthewolf

Great information. Could you please make a video on tuning a trad bow along with trad arrow setups? I am going to be spending a lot of time shooting a trad bow this summer. Any info would be great.

i perfectly robin hooded and arrow at 30 yards with my easton full metal jackets ,i pushed the nock into the shaft. those easton fmjs are tough as nails the only way you break them is shooting them into something really hard (rock,tree,metal)

Have you ever tried NuFletch ? I am shooting a Monster XLR 8 @ 70 lbs was shooting maxima 350 at 28.5 inch 100 gr. broadheads 325 fops . Then listened to Dr. Ashbee and got some nufletch then bought mahams 350 cut off 1.5 inches on each end and added 100 gr. brass inserts but when I shoot the bow it was quieter but you could feel the bow pushing back in your hand because of to much weight. I just listened to what your set up is and pulled all the inserts out. I have tried 250 maxima 350 gr. @63lbs and the bow was noisy . I am going to try 400 grain arrow and I'll get back to ya thanks for listening I enjoy your podcasts very much

Are you ever going to do the arrow vane noise video?

Having a little trouble wrapping my head around adding weight to the nock end and stiffening the overall spine. This is assuming overall arrow mass and velocity are constant.
@aronsnyder94877 жыл бұрын
When the string is released, weight at the end of the arrow will help cause les flex to the shaft because the added weight is at the string (meaning there's no arrow shaft between the weight added to flex), but weight at the tip will make the arrow flex more because the entire length of the arrow is there to flex. Did that make any sense?
@nvrfollowb57 жыл бұрын
Copy that, thank you Aron. I think I understand what you are saying. Basically if you want to reduce g-force/acceleration of arrow you can add weight. By adding weight at the nock the dynamic spine is unaffected by the added weight, but your shooting a lower velocity so you arrow will flex less on release. I hope I got that right.
@nvrfollowb57 жыл бұрын
Interesting numbers: 28.5" arrow at 280 ft/s amounts to 1025g of AVERAGE acceleration so basically your arrow weighs 1025+ times more on release. Back this down to say 270ft/s by adding weight and now the arrow only weighs 950+ times its resting weight on release, but if you add the weight to your knock end and keep the same tip weight, the spine will flex less.

What's your recommendation for cleaning up an arrow after you shoot a fletching off? Do you scrap the whole lot and refletch the entire arrow, or do you try to get away with replacing the one you shot off?
@aronsnyder94877 жыл бұрын
I re-fletch the entire arrow. I just use a dull knife and scrape off and then wipe them down with AAE cleaning wipes.

Good info guys! Appricate it, if you get a chance can you ask Aaron what rear stabilizer he's using? I'm looking into them because at full draw with my quiver my Bubble level is canted to the side. Thanks again guys keep at it!

The Carbon Defiant 34 with #2 cams offer 27-29" draw length.

Which nock holder are you using for the offset and/or helical? I'm having trouble fletching more than a 2 degree offset on my Victory arrows. Thanks.

If you ever do another one of these can you guys also touch on nock tuning? I have 1 arrow that shoots about an inch off from the others. Also what targets you guys use for broadheads cause right now all I have is a sand pit 😭

So I'm a cheap ass and also tried red necking my arrow wraps by cutting them in half a few months back and It gave me super erratic arrow flight. Has this ever happened with you shortening the wraps? Any suggestions? Thanks for all the episodes you and Brian have put out and nice work with the Trad bow this year. Hope to make the switch myself some day.

Hey I always heard that an offset or helical right or left was dictated by which hand you shot is that true or no?!? Thanks

I shoot at 268 with a 570 arrow. I don't agree with Tim Gilliham. I am fixing to make a 1700 grain arrow traveling 150 fps. I rather have a quiet arrow that does pass through or moose and bear.
@takashi03527 жыл бұрын
Ooooo such a rebel cause you use four fletch. Plz some of the stuff you guys say is lame. I been shooting 4 fletch for years, it's not new.

How do you know Helical is louder? I like how rumors just spread and people just accept it without any research. I would also test different weights of arrows. Heavy Vs light arrows for noise.

Seems like you are on the John Dudley plan.

why don't you demonstrate in testing in steady of wasting time working out your mouth for 40 mins? This would help people understand what your are taking about. Like about the spine tester. This would be good for people who are new to the sport.
