I think the message of loving the younger generation is being resisted because there is a sense that what the Church is really concerned about is their own existence, the preservation of the institution itself is the real concern. Hemorrhaging members is a deep concern for any organization and understandable the desperate reactions, but please don't patronize people into believing that your primary concern is for "them".
