So glad to discover your channel... Wish I had known about it earlier. I'm wondering where you are now as this video was posted a month ago. I hope you've been making steady progress. I just backpacked 60 miles in Virginia and Maryland and now back home in Massachusetts. Will probably head to Northern New England for my next sections where hopefully it will be a bit cooler. I've done all of Massachusetts and Connecticut so it's fun to see you do that route.

I'm happy to see you being excited about hiking--somehow you worked through your slump. Kudos!! It's can be hard to push through. I'm really interested in your post-hike how-to-recognize-native-Americans. The next time I head out to the Shenandoah I plan to learn a little about the people who were displaced.

The caterpillars in Connecticut are Gypsy moths. They hatch out by the thousands and eat all the leaves in the trees and that is why the foliage was so thin there. They are disgusting because they digest the leaves and leave green slime all over the ground. Some years are worse than other years. Sounds like this might be a bad year. So glad to see you moving along. I’m thinking good thoughts for you. You should be very proud. Not easy or everyone would be doing it. 👏
