So pleased I found your podcast today! This has filled my relaxing sunday perfectly. I’m a Bebe type knitter - love easy knit in the round with a raglan sleeve. Then every now and then I throw in a colourwork yoke to scare myself.

I really like how you have the breed of sheep on your yarn. Definitely some useful information. Love this episode! I find I’m more like Bebe on my knitting. I want to wear the colorwork projects but, unless they are small, I don’t want to knit them….. 😊

When I’m counting rows , I put those light bulb removable markers every 20 rows, so I don’t lose my place when counting. Both of your sweaters are beautiful.

Really enjoying listening to you both. Nice to hear Kiwi accents. Also really like hearing your yarn choices, especially NZ yarns. Both your 'what you are wearing - FO's' are fabulous! I live in Auckland, and have subscribed to your channel.

Another great episode. Love how different your projects are from each other. Happy knitting. I find I like to have a few different projects on the go - some projects product and others process.

So Very Fun ☺️ Watch and Inspires! So then I Love a few Fibre arts. Knitting is my present one and still a novice. My first MAL starts Oct., 1st for a Sea Glass Cardigan! I haven't been to yarn festivals or yarn crawls, yet. 🎉 They sound so fun and adventurous. I knit for allowing myself creativity without the use of patterns. I read books and study the information and illustrations. Just so exciting of a craft and pleasure to relax by. So I am intrigued by socks ATM but have made beanies, scarves and leg warmers. Some are crochet projects from my previous and now make using both to enhance the Fibre gifts. Thank you, TC and Happy Trails!!

Hello! I am so happy to discover your videos. Your content is so interesting and the dynamic between the two of you is sweet. I love the pattern reviews as I often wonder about what makers think about the items they make after wearing them and reflecting on the making process. Keep up the fine work and thank you for sharing! I'm Jacqueline and I am a Canadian living in Tokyo, Japan. I have lived here with my husband and three daughters for decades. Japan has a rich handcraft history and knitters in Japan are into technical and intricate knits. It is not a visible craft; in the sense that you don't see "knitting in the wild" but the knitters are here and active. Now... I must watch all of your other videos :

I think I'm mostly a process knitter and I can knit endless stocking stitch in the round, and also some challenging cable knits but I have to be in the right mood for them. Mostly don't care when a product is finished or how long it takes. Hence I have quite a few different WIPs.

I am really impressed by Stephens knitting, all though I have knitted quite intensely for about twenty years (since i stopped smoking), I have yet to take on something as complicated as those cabled sweathers or anything by Alice Starmore! That said, I guess I am a bit of both, process and progress knitter. My mojo can be sparked by a special technique or an interesting design element, but once I get started I want to finish it so I can start something else. About counting rows: whenever I knit something where I need to have two the same, like socks or sleeves, or when I need to count rows, like cables, I use a running marker. It is simply a piece of yarn, placed between two stitches, that you let follow your knitting, bringing it to the front or back for example every five or ten rows. Like that it is very easy to count your rows, or keep track of decreases or what ever. It is a bit difficult to explain, English is not my mother language, but google it, I am sure there are films on youtube.

A running yarn marker. I see how that would work, that’s a great idea. I will definitely give that a try. My current method is a bit more convoluted where I have been putting an extra stitch marker on the needle then just moving it along a stitch every time I get to it, then resetting at the correct count. Just don’t forget to move it :)

The algorithm just sent you to me and I am very pleased. Just watched your previous podcasts and I love your makes. I am also a fan of Alice Starmore so really looking forward to seeing your new knits Stephen. I have the Tudor Roses book but haven’t built up the confidence yet to make anything. 🤔 When you are showing and telling your knits, would it be possible to mention the sizes you are making as it would give us a better understanding about the size of the finished project? Enjoy your travels 🧶

Thank you, that’s an excellent idea. It’s funny things like size are in your head but are the first thing to fall out as you try and remember everything. I’ll try and do this, and maybe get this added to our notes in case we still forget. I knit the second to largest size or Troutbeck (sorry book’s at home 2XL?). I started on gauge, very loose, then tightened it up as it got more used to the flat colour work making it neater, but also I think it’s snugger than it should be. 😬

I am both process (but I get disheartened if I don’t see progress!) and product knitter. I don’t mind detail but I need to be able to see what to do next in the knitting - if I need to refer to the pattern every few stitches then it is not really for me. Podcast great length! Looking forward to the next episode.

Bebe, would you mind sharing the colors you used in your Bressay? that is the most exquisite version I've seen! Even if I can't get the yarn, the colors would help. thanks

Do you guys block before you seam please?
@justanotherknittingpodcast
@justanotherknittingpodcast 25 күн бұрын
Hi typically yes, it gets the pieces the same size and straightens the edges. It’s one reason my Redford is not done as it still has to be blocked. I did cheat a little on Troutbeck at first and stream block it, but I was starting to panic about time. Once done I steamed the seams and fully soak blocked it.
