This was my formal introduction to Orthodoxy. This book was what led me back to Christ from being disillusioned by protestantism. Compared to some of the longer, more complex ones, this one stands out as being short and simple. The format is quite elegant too, with the text interspersed with full color icons.

I have used this prayer book daily since it was published in 2016. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I just got it, it has no evening prayers for before sleep, my previous one did and I got super used to doing that, am I missing something?

This New Rome and they new STM versions are great prayer books. I'm glad others are making prayer books on the level of the Jordanville and HTM prayer books. Have you considered comparing all of the Jordanville versions, like the Old UK one, the Old Jordanville, and the current versions?

In the Greek/Athonite usage, compline is read as evening prayer.

This has been my daily goto prayer book for awhile now. I had also used the older pocket version and the new format to be fantastic. Like yourself, I find the wording of certain things to be a little cumbersome and at times odd for an English translation. There a few things I wish it had but overall, probably my favorite Prayerbook at the moment

How does the Newrome book compare to St. Tikhon’s for a beginner? If I want to pray the hours can’t I just get an Anthologion?

I have the HTM Prayer book? I was received in the GOA? Trying to figure out the difference thanks...( Difference between these two prayer books) I also have the old Rite and Svit Prayer book...I'm finding I like the Svit Prayer book a lot.

This book is arranged for individual lay use, whereas the HTM has service texts for congregational use.

In many ways. There are videos on several prayer books on this channel that go over the details. Basically, this is according to the Greek usage, while the Jordanville is according to the Slavic/Russian usage.

Are the hours the actual hours, or some extremely modified variation on the hours that gives you something to pray at the 1,3,6, and 9 hour? I have one prayer book that has prayers for those hours, but it isn't the hours themselves.
