Dixie, I looked forward to following your PCT adventure since you announced it. I am a 53 y/o guy who is CEO of a company, owns a horse farm with my wife and is very bound by my obligations. My outlets are watching your and others adventures on the AT/PCT and road cycling. On 25 June I had a very bad cycling accident in which I fractured my back and broke my neck which resulted in a ICU stay and surgery. For the first month my family had to carry, bathe and dress me and help me through the pain. Three months later I am well on the mend. All through this process I was able to watch your videos, often on pain filled sleepless nights and feel true vicarious joy in your great adventure. THANK YOU for sharing the adventure, you helped me through this lost summer, your adventure was my summer. Stay true to your passion and God love you for sharing. John A. Spalding

Wow! Love that last shot with the drum music. So cool! This was a great vid, with a more intimate feel. Like the inclusion of the other people (and pup) and the honest portrayal of the fact that there are some days that are just 'blah'. That is good to be aware of and to accept that these things happen. 'This too, shall pass". I'm sure the pup was not injured when he was shoved in the back of the truck, but he did seem a bit put out....poor guy. The mouse seemed to say thank you when you let him out....sorry about the toothpaste and brush, Perk! Again, I love the audio of the boots/shoes on the trail. Makes one feel like they are right there. Now when I walk around here and hear the same sound, I can imagine being on the trail someday. It's a good feeling. :-) Thanks so much for these videos! I drop whatever I am doing to watch them.

I have just binge watched from day one to this one, and just loving it!!! Maybe my comment will get lost amongst all the other comment, but I really would like to see more; setting up camp for the night; packing your bag; cooking; interaction with other hikers and more shots of what goes on in group camp areas. This is by no way a criticism, it is just what I would personally like to see more of.

I just wanted to thank you for putting together this series. Great production quality, great mix between grand views, micro-views of the wildlife, and the “feel” on a through-hike. You mix logistical and personal events well. What I am most grateful for is your honest vulnerability. Lots of videos show hikers plunging into large rivers, precarious ledges, and encountering bears and seem unaffected. You showing new hikers, like myself, that you can start the trail with some trepidation and still accomplish your goals. Now, instead of thinking I am not “brave” enough get out there, you have challenged me to push myself despite my nervousness. You are awesome… keep pushing towards the finish line. We all know you can do it. YOU ROCK!

Fun, fun story! I love the details: tree/nurse stump, logistics difficulties, camp alone, convertible ride ahh!, Dibs, goat, berries on trail, mouse in waste basket, "the blahs," Pepsi/doughnut miss, hot/cold food, and on and on. I am awed, Dixie, that you can photograph and narrate it as well as do it! Thanks to Aaron for his incredible movie-making skills. Sending positive thoughts as you continue on!

As someone who's town had to be evacuated due to wildfire in BC this summer I appreciate what you said at the end of the video! These fires have put our lives on hold, and it's been really nice watching you do the things I'd want to do while our backcountry was closed for nearly 2 months. You bring such a good perspective, and I need help with that sort of positivity.

The more I watch this series the more I think of *when* I will do the PCT myself rather than *if*. It’s interesting to me that I hadn’t tried hiking much until last summer and since then I have been trying new trails and making it a habit. Now I have a newfound goal to hike 2600 miles! I live in Southern California and love the West Coast, thank you for igniting my interest!

I am glad that you are having such a successful hike thus far. For those of us that may never have the chance to do something like a thru hike due to whatever life throws at us, it has been a lot of fun to watch you and your little victories. Most of my "hikes" are called something different, forced marches or ruck marches. Good Juju sent to you from GA. Stay safe, if you can't be safe, be dangerous. Hooah!

I used to live near Ashland - there’s a great park there that starts in town and goes on up into the mountains, designed by the same guy who designed Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, and Bidwell Park in Chico, California, which also starts in town and goes right up into the mountains (I lived in all 3 places). There is a good college in Ashland and a great Shakespeare Repertory Theater.
