Today we're going to checkout some of Noctua's highest performance fans out there with a whopping 269.3 m³/h of airflow (158 CFM) and 10.52 mm H20 of static pressure.How well do they fair against the stock corsair fans on the H115i Extreme Performance All-In-One CPU cooler?

I've recently become a Noctua fanboi. I can't believe people are willing to forgo performance, and effectiveness in exchange for RBG LED products. Not that I don't find synced RBG setups amazing looking, but I'd rather have top of the line effectiveness over aesthetics anyday. Perhaps one day Noctua will combine the two, I for one would be excited to see that. 3000 PWM RGB Noctua that syncs with your motherboard. Btw Subbed, thanks for the review, I've done the same thing on my computer recently, However, using the Noctua quiet version (NF-A14 PWM), I've seen a fairly nice improvement in performance, and a huge improvement in noise.

I built a computer last December using only Noctua 3000 rpm fans. I have 2x 140mm Noctua on my H115i radiator. And I have 2 liquid cooled 1080TIs in SLI that each have 2 Noctua 120mm 3000 rpm in push/pull. Then I have one more fan as an exhaust fan. I love these fans because they can still be quiet when you want them to be quiet. If i'm working and don't need heavy cooling I can turn it down and it stays pretty much silent. Then if I really want to overclock the heck out of my system and still keep it cool I can set it to "ludicrous speed". It gets super loud when they are all on full blast, but totally worth it. I only play games with headphones so the extra noise doesn't really bother me. Plus if you also mine crypto currencies on the side it is nice to know that your computer is kept cool when you are leaving it unattended for long periods of time.

Thanks for this video, I'm extremely undecided if I get the Noctua IPPC at 2000rpm or 3000rpm versions for upgrading my Cryorig H5 universal. I'm concerned with the high "idle" 800rpm of the 3000 version. Hard to believe at full speed they are quieter than Corsair's 2000rpm SP fans. Only a suggestion, those percentage RPMs don't mean much thing, you should have made a comparison at equivalent rpm ranges 2000x2000, 2000x3000, 800x800 1500x1500, or such.

I use the 3000rpm noctua fans on all workstations I build for quite a while now. They are very quiet at low rpm and offer enough reserve for hot days. Only one out of 100+ failed so far, it released magic smoke when first connected.

For the dB chart at 3:00 minutes, the readings are for two fans in the cooler, correct? I am interested in one fan, and am dividing the results by two, which seeminly gives quite than advertised results.

Not not sure the premium paid for the Noctuas iPPC 3000 RPM fans is worth it to most people (a few degrees cooler and just slightly quieter), unless you really need to shave off some temps. In my case with my "pushing it to the limit" overclock I do need to bring my temps down as much as possible especially during the warm south Florida summers. I have some NF-A14s on the way. For most people the quieter 2000 RPM fans will be quieter and provide similar to stock cooling give or take a degree or two maybe three.
@GotoTechReviewsChannel

+RojasTKD7 Yes, definitely agree. I do t remember if I said that in the video or not, but these are intended for someone looking to squeeze every last ounce of performance at the cost of noise. I prefer quiet over a couple degrees in most of my scenarios.
@RojasTKD7
@RojasTKD7 7 жыл бұрын
Agreed, if my temps weren't in the mid to high 80s, i'd take less noise over a couple of degrees. You did mention at the begining of the video this was a strictly best performance case. Just wanted to make sure the average viewer understands.

Right on. I've just obtained these Noctua industrial fans, will be pairing them as push fans for the Corsair H115i RGB Pro XT CLC, trying to keep an overclocked 6950x under control. I don't really care about sound - that's what headphones are for. Am using the same well vented and roomy Phanteks Luxe case as in your video. I'll use the magnetic levitation Corsair fans as pull on the other side of the radiator.

So you make a video of INDUSTRIAL fans that push 5x more static pressure than most fans on the market, and you mount them in pull. OF COURSE there will be no real difference in temps when you blatantly disregard what the fans are made for. These fans are designed to PUSH air more effectively, especially through a radiator which is the purpose of a high mm H2O fan like this.
@GotoTechReviewsChannel
@GotoTechReviewsChannel 7 жыл бұрын
+Chaz Bailey I recently tested this on the bench and found minimal temp differences in push and pull, I may need to do a follow up on this video.

mm H2O ratings are the pressure these can generate, directionality has no influence on this, if a fan has a forward pressure it pulls with exactly the same force

Wouldn't it be better configuring the fans in a Push Setup than in a Pull Setup like in the Video, or does it make no difference? Especially with Fans with such high static pressure?
@GotoTechReviewsChannel
@GotoTechReviewsChannel 8 жыл бұрын
+Felix Klingler The difference between push and pull is fairly negligible, I believe push is slightly better at lower Fan speeds and pull is better at higher fan speeds. I know JayzTwoCents has done a video on this topic.

Goto Tech Reviews in high rpm, push pull is useless. However, in lower rpm, on thick radiator, you have clear impact..:)
@RojasTKD7
@RojasTKD7 7 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that there isn't much of a difference, but in pull it is easier to get to the radiator to clean it every so often, without the fans in the way. So I use a pull setup for the convenience.

I plan to use 6 of the F12 and one A14 in my next build. Mobo is Asus Crosshair 8 hero. Which has 3 CHA fan headers and 2 CPU fan headers . 3 of the F12 will be on the rad in the front, the other 3 F12 as exhaust on the top and the A14 as an exhaust. Can a single CPU fan header or single CHA fan header handle two F12 via a Y-splitter? Because with that many fans, at least two of them have to power 2 fans at the same time.

Hello, can anyone please tell me if I can plug two of these in on one motherboard fan header using a Y splitter. I see that each fan is rated for 0.55A of current, and I don't know how much current my motherboard headers support. I have a gigabyte AB350 gaming 3 motherboard BTW. Thanks

For anyone else that runs across this; Most mobos only do 1A on each fan header and its been that way for years. In the past there have been outliers, but in recent years since AIO and RGB have gotten popular many boards come with 2A fan headers now, like EVGA's Dark boards. If your fans need 0.55A each, thats 1.1A together, which is a cunt hair more than a traditional fan header can do comfortably. At continuous use the fan header could probably cope with that for awhile ,but what usually kills electronics, especially when theyre aged, is the initial boot of a PC cause it tends to ramp everything up on first boot. If its a low end cheapy mobo most likely its going to be 1A fan headers. Normally you can find the fan headers max amps but gigabyte dropped the ball again and didnt list it for the OP's mobo.

The 3000 rpm sound like little jet engines at full speed haha. I still think they are awesome. Take a look at the ML Series from corsair. I have those as case fans. No motor noise. Just noise at higher RPMs from moving air. But obviously that's every fan and you can't escape that noise

why put those vents on a pull config when clearly a push one would benefit more ?

I need to do more testing on this, but the difference in cooling between push and pull is minimal. The ease of install and cleaning far outweighed any potential small performance increase.

It's not if the radiator pushes air from outside of the chassis, try and mount that in front with a pull config. In my setup with a h90 the difference between pushing air from outside vs pushing air from inside where is already warm due to GPU was about ~10 degrees C depending on what i ran
