🍄‍🟫Episode 4: Pouring Agar Into Condiment Cups

🍄‍🟫 I've been experimenting with using condiment cups for agar, and I really like them! They are cheap, readily available, and a great size to use for inoculating grain spawn. I am also playing with silicone tubes in my liquid culture, as both a means to better aerate and extract the LC from the jars.
🍄‍🟫 I've improved my pouring tek since filming this video, but everybody has to start somewhere! Please share your tips and tricks in the comments section, because I am here to learn. 🙏 🍄‍🟫❤️

@@fns5757 very well, thank you! It’s been about three months, and I practically have mushrooms growing out of my ears now! I struggled so much for so long, I really wish I had done this sooner! I don’t know why I was so resistant to learning agar, it’s truly been a game changer for me. I wish I had known, but for whatever reason, I often have to learn things the hard way. 🙃

Are the cups made of pp5 plastic, ie. Are they autoclave safe?

@@ianwynne5483 no, they are hot mold ejected single use plastic cups, not lab sterile, but they are pretty darn close!

@@cuentagratis9157 12g agar and 600ml water. If I want to add nutrients, I generally add 10-12g of light malt extract, corn dextrose, or sorghum syrup, plus 1g each of peptone and nutritional yeast. But all that is needed is water and agar.
