Your new answer to the exercise question was so awesome! Doing exercise while watching tv and paying yourself. Love it. I love tv. I think I am gonna have to implement this. Gotta figure what I can do in my small home. But I can definitely find something and I will!

I totally get why people say to not weigh yourself. But, I weigh myself every single morning and it really does keep me accountable to what I ate that day. BUT...I'm already basically at my goal weight, so the scale is a good way for me to check in and see if a "cheat" added weight. It almost always DOES, and that puts me back on track. For someone with a ton of weight to lose, who is exercising for the first time in a while, I agree the scale can be counter-productive.

The best way to convince people that a whole plant foods diet is the best is to be an AMAZING EXAMPLE. When people see me, and how fit & lean my body is, *THEY ASK ME*. I don't have to convince them of anything. The proof is standing in front of them.

Millet is good and easy on the stomach. Have you tried barley? I've been cooking arrowhead mills organic pearled barley and keeping it in the freezer. I add it to pumpkin oatmeal, salads, soups, etc.

Dear Chef AJ, can I ask: would you support cultured meat? For pets for example, or as a passage to veganism for people who are really stubborn. Thank you for your great and interesting talks!
@fuzzfriendly7 жыл бұрын
From what I've heard it's made in laboratory from animal cells. So yes you have to get a tiny piece of an actual animal, but then you can reproduce the cells and get "cultured meat". Meat that no animal had to die for or suffer for. I might be getting all of this wrong. I just find it as an interesting option (perhaps more ethical) for situations, where an animal doesn't do well on a vegan diet. Thank you for replying. Can't wait for another video!!

I know this is late in coming, but please let people know that some foods such as onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, avocados, mushrooms and many more can be toxic to dogs. My dog almost died from consuming garlic. I spent $6,000 at the vet and praise God he's fine today. But please advise others to consult their vet before switching a dog's diet and research & print out a list from the internet on foods that are toxic to dogs or cats.

Why would you feed your pets, who are carnivores, vegan/plant based? 🙂Thanks for all you do.
@debbiecowherd40317 жыл бұрын
Dogs are NOT carnivores, they are omnivores, like humans. Cats, however, are obligate carnivores - they naturally need meat, though there are ways to supplement if you really, really want to.
@fuzzfriendly7 жыл бұрын
If they do well on a vegan diet ok. I guess Chef AJ's dog is doing just fine. She might have more energy, longer life on an omnivore diet but then you would take a life from another animal. For vegans, that don't have pets at this moment, a guinea pig, a bunny or a horse might be a better choice :). But dogs really are great companions. But then even if you save a dog on a death row, they might have adverse effect on vegan food and you might be forced to choose a dog's life instead of a life of a chickens, cows, pigs. So the problem is real and you should take that into consideration. I'm not even going into this whole, are pets vegan to begin with, but ok :)

I guess there are lots of issues around this question. Thanks for the replies and keeping it kind.

Wasn't the oldest recorded living dog fed plant-based/vegan?
@fuzzfriendly7 жыл бұрын
@Varia I'm not sure to whom you are addressing this. But there are a lot of assumptions in your answer. It's not only conventional pet food vs. vegan diet. There is a whole world of foods and approaches in between. In my country people are starting to feed their dogs raw food, mostly meat+veggies. It does wonders for dogs, who have allergies to corn, wheat, soy. You can also cook your dog home prepared meals. You might have to give extra vitamins and you have to be careful with puppies but that is also a possibility. And yes, most of us do care for animals. I don't have a dog at the moment. But if I had one, I would spent a lot of time, energy figuring out what's best for him/her and what I can afford to give them, not what is best for my worldview&agenda. Cancer in pets can also be due to bad genes, activity levels, environment ... Just because vegan food is the best for people, it doesn't mean that it's the best for all animals. It might be the reason why people get sick in the first place, because they don't eat food that's the best choice for humans. That doesn't mean that it will give your omnivore/carnivore pet cancer. We might find it horryifiying, disgusting just thinking about eating noses, beaks, eyes ... But animals usually don't waste food. They are not nice about killing other animals and not polite about eating them. They also eat parts of intestine with semi-digested plant food in them. And that is good for them. That's why they usually recommend, if you are making food for your dog, that you try to get an animal whole. Or as whole as possible. Not just for example wings. I understand that you do not want to give a dime to slaughterhouses. But you are way to emotional. And your dog/cat came into this world as an omnivore/carnivore. Not to spite you, it's just their nature. It's a different species and I think it should be treated as such. We are already controlling their lives in a big way. I hope your animals will live a long, healthy life. On a vegan or a non vegan diet.

You need to stop calling people who don't follow a wfpb diet "normal people" when you are talking about your recipes. A sad diet has become the norm but it is not normal.
