Ben's Wildcards on Suzuki 14th > 8th > 6th then on the Yamaha 7th. He was never slow but never consistently on the podium most of his races was 4th-8th, but that would have been in the 12 factory bike era.

Great podcast, I think Scott redding would have beaten poll and won the moto 2 World championship if it hadn't been for that awful accident, having to not only ride with physical injuries but also mental ones from the death of the rider he crashed into. Also Danny Kent, never understood why he didn't get a good moto 2 ride after becoming moto 3 champ.

Pedrosa for sure. He was regarded as a god, the Prince in waiting. In 250s stoner said he wanted to win to show people Dani isn’t as good as everyone thinks. Dani won. When they came to big bikes, I was reading a magazine that said Pedrosa is a god and could challenge for the title in his first year. For stoner, they said all we can hope for is he learns this year. He put the satellite bike on pole in his first race, while suffering a cold. Pedrosa was factory his whole career and not winning a title proves stoner was right with his 250 prophecy. Stoner of course, was the god

@@Bluepillphil-d1w Pedrosa was too small for the tyres in MotoGP if he'd raced more in the Tyre War period he could have had tyres made especially for him.

@@ChrisRufus76 no. I watched and supported stoner from race 1 and seeing him prevail as a true master elite (god star) over Pedrosa was joyous to me. It will not be diluted.

@@Bluepillphil-d1w Not saying that Stoner isn't a fantastic talent, he and Marc Marquez are probably the most talented riders ever to ride a motorbike. All I was saying is that Dani would have done better with tyres specific for his lighter frame.

@@ChrisRufus76 Garry McCoy was a little guy, and he famously bought in the 16 inch (was it) front wheel. Something like that. And he started winning and everyone had to follow. A n Dunlops too I think it was?

@@Bluepillphil-d1w yes that was when MotoGP had custom tyres. They went to spec tyres in about 2008/9

Totally wrong about spies he won 1 race and his bike always was breaking down causing him to fall and get injured on a different team I could see him winning a championship !

Ben actually won the 2nd race at Valencia but was let down by the Yamaha. Stoner's Honda just out accelerated him. Nothing he could do about it.

Manuel Poggiali is the biggest talent never to achieve what he was capable of, 2 championships in 3 years. A few injury/bad seasons then left.

I came to mention the Pogg. Won 2 championships but a bit like John Kocinski kept burning his bridges with teams. Stunning raw talent but maybe missing the mental aspect of a true great.

come on guys the only reason why pecco won his first world championship is because every other bike on the grid was absolute garbage my great aunt Berta could've won the championship on that Ducati
