Another timely episode! Thank you Nicole and Jenna for always giving us practical wisdom coupled with sharing your own personal stories and experiences. Both this episode and the last are so helpful and supportive for us all. I feel that there are going to be major breakthroughs and aha moments all round. I certainly can relate to all that was discussed. Often in long term relationships it is often difficult to recognise these patterns, let alone shift them. But with podcasts like these, we can all reflect and do the work to raise our individual awareness and heal our dysregulated nervous systems towards authenticity. Such valuable advice and information. We heal ourselves, we heal the world. Peace, love and light ✨️ 🙏 💕

Thank you so much for putting yourselves out there. By "doing the work", I have been made aware of how daughter's body reacts to different situations. She's 12. When her body reacts, she goes for my hand and is looking for me to help her/show her how to deal with our bodies when we are uncomfortable. Even though I get uncomfortable too, we take a breath together, grab hands and go for it! We are almost coaching each other. We practice together ❤️ P.s. I'm loving the science! ❤️

Thank you so much for each episode. No matter how life gets busy I come back to this every week. I realized resentment has presented itself in my healing journey. In moments I thought I had healed and moved on or forgave someone or myself all of sudden resentment comes in. But it comes in very quietly and slowly. Would you please talk about resentment and how it affects us. Sending so much love 🌺Thank you *Healing circle member🍀

Another great episode! Thank you for highlighting the ongoing work needed to truly change patterns or responses that don't serve us. It's true, even equipped with the tools and knowledge to recognize and respond to patterns in a new way, it is a lot harder to truly do this all the time in real time. Love how you phrased it with compassion stating it is simply our nervous systems way of protecting us.

Learning about the 4 different responses that we may be going into without realizing (old patterns, habits) is so helpful. I appreciate you giving us more awareness to pick up on cues so we have more choices and opportunities for growth & enrichment. Thank You

I love these episodes, thank you so much! I recently learned that another response beside fight flight freeze and fawn is responsibility dysmorphia. Where the person takes responsibility of things they are not responsible for. It was a powerful learning for me

Yes-regarding what Jenna’s saying around 33:40. When I practice awareness, self-regulation, self-compassion, and new ways of responding-when I keep my focus on the learning and the tools, I don’t really have to worry about the old pathways, because they start to wither on their own, the way an unused trail in the forest gets overgrown and eventually disappears. 🙏🏼

Thank you so much for teaching us to unlearn unhealthy patterns, so that the path is free for new learnings! Listening to this episode, I keep on wondering how Nervous System Awareness could be practiced at the work place. Because authenticity in talking to your boss is not the same authenticity that we would practice in a relationship. We wouldn’t go up to them and make our vulnerabilities be seen and heard and ask for the other’s compassion. So it would be much more about self compassion, I guess, giving safety to oneself. Maybe you could talk about this in a future episode? How to practice awareness and how to react in a work place situation, when we have actually become aware that the others behavior is super triggering for us?

An amazing discussion! I listened whilst doing housework and there were so many reminders and new nuggets of learning. It reminded me that I had let go of some of the good inner work I have done and I need to reconnect more with myself. Thank you both so much 💕

I relate to everything that's said. My awareness increased so much since 'doing the work', but I still struggle to call that time-out, to articulate my needs and to be my authentic self. All I can say is that the progress is slow. Sometimes I get despondent. Then I look at my children and grandchildren and know that I can't give up. Thank you for a great episode. 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼

Chills reading your sharing, Karlien. Thank you! Sometimes it can feel like we've made no progress at all, yet every moment is a moment forward on the journey, even if it can't be measured. Even your engagement and reflections here are just that. Thank you so much for being a part of the journey with us all here in these conversations. Deeply inspired by your devotion to heal for yourself, your children, your grandchildren and all of the worlds generations to come. Sending you so much love.

When you guys said 'it can become my new safety' (timestamp 26:42 ), does it mean that we are redefinig/switching what safety means or are we expanding where safety can apply off what our nervous sytem already knows/defines safety as?

I have a very dig extream fear of abandonment to come back to a conflict after I use my fawn response I lose trust and security I do freeze I will just react like Jenny said about saying no about the hug from her partner because I am trying to keep my selfsafe.

Hi I never new about the fawn response so when you gave the example of one of your partners being on there phone Scrolling on social media because they are trying to protect themselves while your trying to talk to your partner inoder to get your needs met could you please do an episode on how this would work how the both of you can interact and get you and your partners needs met with out yelling at each other. While both people are in there fawn response I love the Familiarity the Predictability It gives me a sense of security but it is false sense security. however even if it is a faulse sense of security and lots of Chaos and very emotionally unstable I can feel all the tension all the uncomfortableness in my body i just thought my body is just tense it's just me whatever.
