I swear, whenever I fly commercial and I see Gonky as one of the flight crew, Captain, or FO, I’m always going to see the mental picture of him in my head in his flight suit in the cockpit of a C-130. No Offense Gonky. You are a Great Fighter Pilot. Thank You All for keeping us at home safe from bad guy’s. It’s all MOVERS FAULT by the way … 🤣

We took our daughter who was 6 at the time to the naval air museum while over there, she had a ball until she couldn't find me, she recruited the big boss of the museum to search for me. He was awesome and was happy to walk all over the building to find me.

Hey Mover, I understood the 'F16 training coalition' for the Vipers for Ukraine are looking for trainers. It was in the news here that the Dutch ministry of defense was even checking with Dutch airlines if former Viper pilots would be interested in a trainer position.

In my AFROTC Det, my first cadet CC was a prior-enlis CCT. They sent him to finish his degree and commission. The dude was a beast but one hell of a leader- we all loved him.

We just had an Eurofighter that was hit by a drone on short final so sad that they didn't find the stupid guy who flew it. Now the plane spotters have to deal with more tight security around etc makes life harder for everyone besides the stupid one who did that BS. Great show as always! Greetings from Bavaria!

Fouga CM.170 Magister is french trainer jet, not british. It has also a carrier capable version CM.175 Zéphyr for the navy

Gonky is so correct, on deployment, it is just like ground hog day. I'm sure morale jumped when that drone was shot down. When a jet goes off the pointy end, there are a lot of people that made that happen.

I found her story on LinkedIn, although she doesn't say what it stands for. She just said it was from a mistake that was nearly catastrophic. Of course Mover strafed a few cows, but he indicated that it's not an acronym and not based on the sound a cow makes.

Heinz Ollesch tried to pull a 737 in a live show. Unfortunatly they forgot to unlock to unlock the breaks, so no world record. As he trained for it it worked. Not much he couldn't pull back in his days.

Body armor is functionally gender neutral. If your bust size equals a man's chest size and your torso length matches, then that's the armor you'd wear. I can easily see they may run out of the short sizes, but short men would be in the exact same predicament as regular sized women.

Aren't there studies on how the differences in body type for women might call for specific body armor designed for a woman's body? Granted there's a wide variation on body shapes, but in general there are fundamental differences. I've tried on something that was accidentally placed on a men's rack that was in my waist/length size and noticed something really weird when I put it on. It was apparently the women's version and it fit horribly. I've also seen women put on unisex T-shirts, which are essentially men's. The women's versions that are tapered fit much better for most women.

on the air to air kill the RAF didn't count drones/V1, otherwise the highest scoring western ace was a british pilot who shot down over 100 V1's The US on the other hand did count drones during vietnam war

Blancolirio did a weather analysis, in relation to the one preceding plane saying they had rain 3 to 5 miles out AND the one report was they were trying to do visual approach. Juan postulated they mistook one of the bridge, eastern end land ramps for the runway, when it was actually behind the rain. Thanks for mentioning the ~45 minute hold as that closed the loop on why they diverted across the state to FLL.

Question, is the Marine Corps squadrons not flying off carriers with Navy squadrons? Just kinda seems dumb to me if they’re not. I want Marines flying off boats 😉. Marines are America’s 911 force. And, Life Taker’s and Heart Breakers. According to a documentary I saw in the the 80’s😊

Depends on which squadron. I believe their Harriers, Ospreys, and F-35B can be based off of assault ships. But they still have some legacy Hornets and a couple of F-35C squadrons. I'm pretty sure they still deploy on carriers, but I would think their primary mission would be land based.

The US Marine mission is primarily land attack and close air support. They need very little presence on carriers to do that mission because carriers shouldn't be that close. Amphibious flat and half deck ships are their primary base. My Daughter's ship, the ATD USS New York has room for 4 Helos and 1 Ospry, along with 900 marines and three decks of amphib/ground vehicles (LCAC"s, Oh My!) for the serious knife fights. Been inside the well deck and the flight deck (among other places) and it IS impressive. I would LOVE to be an observer during ops.

@@paulholmes672 They've always had squadrons that would do carrier rotations. Maybe not as many as USN squadrons. There are currently two operating USMC squadrons flying the F-35C, and the only reason they would want that over the F-35A is for a carrier capability.

During 3 of my deployments in the Navy we had a Marine squadron in the CAG. First 2 was VMFA314 (they wouldn't shut up about being the squadron in Independence Day) and the last deployment was VMFA323.
