Episode 57 - Sailing from the Solomon Islands to Australia - Arriving in Australia

We continue our trip from the Solomon Islands to Australia, having come about half way. We look at breaking the journey at one of Australia remote Coral Sea territories to rest.
Eventually on the eleventh day we arrive in Townsville, Australia to face isolation in a hotel due to Covid 19 restrictions.

2 Weeks jail time and you have to pay for it yourself. Welcome back to your own country. So what's the total damage to your Cat after the trip. Also you had a bilge full alarm go off but did not explain what the problem was. Just interested to know the outcome.

Thanks for the video, I was thinking about your headsail shredding. I was not there when it happened but I wonder if you furl your headsail by heading downwind and running with the apparent? I find that the headsail furls much more benignly when running. Thanks for the video. I would love to do your trip on our cat when Covid is under control. Cheers Phil

Thanks for watching Phil. Yes we usually run downwind, with the main shielding the headsail to make it easier to furl. This is what we were trying to do when we got that change in wind direction and sudden gust which caught us off guard. Cheers
