Dr. Esselstyn is a national treasure! He and Dean Ornish have shown that heart disease can be stopped and even reversed. I sleep a lot better at night knowing that my likelihood of heart disease and not being around to enjoy times with my children is now drastically reduced. I am avoiding oils as Essy recommends and encouraging my two sons to transition to a more whole food, plant-based diet to enhance their health and well-being. Hats off to Chef AJ for having Essy and his wonderful wife Ann on the show to share how simply changing one's diet can markedly change one's long-term health and their overall life. I have read the doctor's groundbreaking book, How to Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease and am grateful to Essy for all his wonderful wisdom and insights. As another Yalie, boola, boola to the Esselstyns!

Thank you very much for having taken the time to interview Dr & Mrs Esselstyn together at length! This has been really enlightening. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the story of the dinner 20 years ago that Ann Crile Esselstyn found sooooo memorable. That story served to put into high relief just how deeply invested you have been and are now in your particular passion for helping people learn to eat properly and protect their health and that of their loved ones. I myself am deeply appreciative of your commitment!

Ten years ago, I was in Fatima Portugal at an intersection and a corner house had a portuguese kale/cabbage plant growing over the wall out about 20 ft above the street. On a red light the housewife walked out to the middle of the road and plucked a few of the lowest leaves to prepare for a meal. Typically that kale is harvested not as an entire plant but the bottom leaves are harvested and the cane keeps growing producing more leaves.

Why would a green smoothie damage your endothelium? I thought greens healed your endothelium
@LeeAnneOlsen2 жыл бұрын
I think they are referring more to the amount of fruit that people add to green smoothies because greens become slightly more bitter when blended... that is how I interpreted it anyway🙂 If you add very little fruit as a sweetener it should be fine👍
