Hello Penny ,i am watching this latest video, and before you had said anything at all about your Pete, i saw in your face that something had been going on, you look so different,and I knew it was going to be serious,I am so sorry to hear what Pete has gone through,and I am pleased he is on the mend,and that will be good for you too. So much worry for you both, but also the help that you can get from the hospital and doctors,and yet you are so right,you do have to be by the side of your sick spouse or loved ones when they are lying in bed and not able to deal with what is going on around them.I loved the quilt that you showed such great fabrics and colours. a rainbow is touching you pene - a sign of hope. what love and care you have been giving to your sweet pete - it's truly inspiring pene to see the love and commitment two people have for each other, thank you for sharing this with us. i think you started the quilt-as-you-go before pete got ill? hmmm...that was prescient. and o, the big one, with the unusual colors and loverly embellishments - yes do!, keep going with the beads and french knots. the texture they create must be really fun for little (clean!) hands to run across. woodpecker socks yes! love how you mark time with fabric... and your quilt as you go blocks are STunninG! seriously. i am sooo intrigued with this method and very much appreciate your wonderful video within a video! love the step by step visuals and explanations. nice boudoir tour thanks! a precious boy, water, sand, the ocean, who could want for more? wishing you so well pene sweet - and pete too, natch. please take more time for walks! lovelibby

Dear Penny my heart & prayers go out to you both. Hope you practice what you must have said loads of times in your career as a counsellor ie make time for self care. As in the flight safety instructions put your own face mask on before helping others. Hope you get what I mean, I expect you will. I was so happy to see your video this evening. You and Pete have been on my mind and I’m so relieved to hear that your dear husband is doing so well now. Do remember to take extra good care of yourself too!!! Your socks were knitted so beautifully. The fabric memory tags and word key is such a clever way to record your weeks. Your hand stitching video was so clearly explained and shown. I really think that I could sew a block or two. Thank you for creating and posting this. I was so sorry to hear of Pete’s horrible health battles. Please be assured of my prayers for you both, as he recovers and you build up your strength again . We have sadly had our horrors too ,in that my dear old Dad of 94 1/2 died on January 5th. I have often thought of you losing your lovely mum last year, and that you allowed yourself to grieve has been so helpful. We have both had wonderful parents. The QUilt as You Go Quilt under construction was really pretty as is your bedroom. X

You have no idea how happy and relieved I was to see your face and hear the encouraging report about Pete. There has not been a day that goes by without checking for a post. It was a relief to see your weather so beautiful as well, for your trips back and forth. Your room is a beautiful oasis. Thanks for inviting us in. While you have been away I have continued to work on my knitting, and gifted a copy of the pattern book for your knitted animals to my sister, who was charmed by them. Your paper piecing is beautiful and the method is intriguing. You will both be in my thoughts daily as we all pull for Pete's full recovery.

Pene, wow, you have had a trying December to say the least. I'm glad to hear Pete is on the mend. I too have seen Anne Brooke textile artist. You have chosen a great project to help keep your mind focused and hands busy with those weekly tags. And I liked seeing your quilt as you go process. Those clear templates look so handy for a fun fussy cut fabric. Perfect placement with those butterflies and moths. Gorgeous. I can't believe Tommy talking in sentences! Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Loved the snoop around. I have too many quilts, too. But rather than on the floor, they are just piled up. I just love your channel - well, it is you we all love of course. And hearing about your Pete and his illness! How horrible it must be to be so ill. Thank goodness he has you to look after him. But I do see that with the lock down you can take a little time to recover from the strain. I'm sure you are happy to care for him but it is wearing as well. And he will need you as he recovers his health. Your handwork is just so beautiful. Indeed, your whole home is lovely. I enjoy your colors. The William Morris designs are gorgeous. And dear Tommy. Hello! I'm new here. I hope that by the time you read this, your husband is continuing to make progress. How lovely that you were able to take some time for yourself. Self-care is SO important when you know you have someone else you need to care for, isn't it? I loved the quilt as you go section. I learned a lot! I did a City and Guilds embroidery course, we had to do a little quilting, but quilting as you go was not included. Your stitching is SO neat!

hi again pene - i can't tell you how inspired i've been with your quilt-as-you-go project. i see below i posted 8 days ago, and have been obsessed trying to learn more about this technique. after watching your video, i remembered i had seen 'stitch with rachel' on youtube, who was showcasing a brick type QAYG layout - i think 5" long rectangles by 2 1/2"? something like that. and then!, i saw your QAYG from the same company, daisy and grace, and i'm just hooked. but i'm also hesitant to reach out and ask questions (i have many!), when you are so clearly time limited...i wonder, may i send you some questions via your ravelry address? do you do that? i am itching to start some sort of quilt and am running around in circles... sure hope pete is better daily pene - cheers to you both, libby
