For real though.. I get that musicians want to try new things, and I respect them for doing what they want, and what makes them happy... but I just can't be along for the ride any longer. "Darker Still" did it for me, where I said "Good for them, but I'm hopping off this ride." Just not my thing, the direction they've gone. And that's OK, we still have a good few albums of fantastic ear candy.

@@autumnvolume4181 My opinion exactly. I can understand that they want to develop and don't always want to sound the same, but sorry, their new material since Reverence just doesn't do anything for me. Bands like these guys alienate a lot of metal fans because they look like the popular kids in school and not the alternative people or even social outcasts that metal fans often see themselves as - and often are.
@newsumross11 жыл бұрын
whit, we are the cool people?
@BaconJets11 жыл бұрын
I think it's the music that alienates people if anything. Metalcore takes metal into a much more simplistic direction and Metal since its inception has tried to become more and more complex so we've ended up with extremely technical bands, so it's a massive shift with Metalcore.
@raizencore11 жыл бұрын
Judging a band by their look is like judging a book from by it's cover. You always judge a band by their music experience. Parkway Drive are fucking great. Even if they were ugly I'd still listen to them! :)
@liamh736411 жыл бұрын
Your statement goes both ways. Sure bands like parkway may seem to you to alienate metal fans who were social outcasts, but other metal-core bands alienate people like me who (although i may not have been "popular") dress mildly, don't have piercings, tattoos, long hair or so much of the aesthetics associated with the genre. Moral of the story: Listen to what you like, who gives a fuck what you or the bands look like. If I'm at a metalcore concert I don't give a shit what you look like, we are all there cause we have a passion for this music
@cdsmith199010 жыл бұрын
I think you're seeing things the wrong way tbh. For me, PD are a band that break out of the mould created by a lot of 'metalcore' bands (I'm using that term generally because sub-genres are a different debate) by being more 'normal'. I mean it's good when bands emphasise things like heavy tattoos, piercings, makeup, etc but in the same way that you think PD alienate people, those other bands might do the same. Someone might like metalcore and other genres but not be comfortable with the image that some bands and fans feel obligated to fit to. Parkway have been around a long time, and what I love about them is they've always stayed true to themselves, they're just a group of Aussie guys that love to surf and play metalcore.. there's nothing else to it. I urge you to watch their documentary, it's available on here - you'll see just how cool, down to earth and genuine they are :)

PD always make you angry because their video locations are amazing. they are surfing while they play guitar, and YOU are sitting in front of this message. I wanna die. by the way best part at 2:55.

That's awesome man. I want to get subs in my car and blow the other hip hop rap bullcrap out of the water, because that's how we change this world for the better. By the way, how are subs listening to this car?

@artardFTW11 жыл бұрын
Look2TheSky101 yea when you do make sure you set it up so the bass doesn't drown out the rest of the sound. Its pretty easy to do with pwd they have pretty heavy kick bass i usually have to pull it back a few clicks to even it out lol
