Even when the ink cartridge was full, my Epson printer would frequently fail to print. I would change the cartridge and followed the cleaning recommendations, but the issue would still exist. I was ready to buy a new printer, when I found your video. The solution was so simple and it actually works. My printer is now working. Thank you for making this video.

Well 2nd run of the built in print head cleaning cycle And just printed test page progress instead nothing printed The 3 colors printed With some missing spots in each So Running 3rd cleaning cycle

I just bought a xp400 on fb classifies for 40.00 with loads of in which was will over the 40.0l value and when I got it all set up and did a print test I’m only getting blue so this might be the same problem. I’ll try this tomorrow, fingers crossed this works for me too.

Hi, I tried this fix (i.e. the alcohol cleaning) and it did not work on my Epson XP-5100, even with new ink cartridges. I repeated the procedure a couple of times....... nothing. I guess I will have to trash this printer and get a new one, possibly an H-P.

If you don't have the alcohol cleaner, just take out all the cartridges and fill the tray with disinfectant gel as has it in and get some kitchen towels then dab it all out. That's even easier. Cleans the whole thing out and you'll grab all the dry ink trust me.

Sadly I tried this method didn’t work. I have 2 Color’s that is not working and I know my cartridges are new. I did a head cleaning about 5 times so I gave up. Any suggestions..?

Wow, nothing at all..I have no other guesses..if it sat for a long time, the ink might be dried very hard, you can try another cleaning with the q tips, after that it might be time for a new one

​@alyoungcuda it was coming out on the cartridge slowly but not enough to print on paper. So I took a cotton swab with alcohol and clean the cartridge hole and the little nozzle that goes into the cartridge did a maintenance cleaning and a power clean. When I tried again it worked

I wish you had actually shone your light into the cartridge receptacle while you were cleaning it. We get the idea, but you mostly showed us a picture of the housing and a q-tip.

it might ve easier just to take some empty cartridge and reset it with cartridge reseter and just fill cartridge with isoprotyl alkohol and then try print something,

Epson like HP are crooks, the printers are cheap to buy but they make their profit on the ink, it's a con. Non genuine ink cartridges are very hit and miss. You can have a full non genuine cartridge, yet the printer tells you to replace it thanks to their little electronic chips on the cartridge, it's daylight robbery. If your printer jet is blocked and you keep trying to print and your not using any ink or very little, the clever printer cant tell how much ink is in the cartridge, it senses how many times you've requested a print and alters your ink levels accordingly, so you can have a full cartridge yet the damn printer will say the cartridge is empty.

Makes sense..remember when Apple phones added an update to drain batteries on older phones to phase them out. Now they stop letting you update apps because the phones are old, forcing you to buy a new one at 1k each.
