I saw a team of men from Tonga build a stone wall in exactly the way Tongan men known how to do it. They worked in unison, in a rhythm and it turned out well. I watched a team of Irish clog dancers dance their traditional dance, in unison. It was lovely. When I was young, unity was strength. Things worked well. Some day we will sit on a porch, and talk about the "diversity experiment".

If diversity is such a good thing that naturally provides great advantage, then why hasn't it happened naturally? Why do we even need to have a video trying to sell us on something that apparently doesn't seem to work that well when forced.

Maybe it’s a great idea and the only thing stopping it until now is discrimination, ignorance and racism. Or maybe this is all just part of priming us towards socialism. I’m still undecided..

@@gmarie3053 Do you like to hangout with people that don't believe in similar ideas and act completely different than you do? This has nothing to do with discrimination, ignorance or racism. it has more to do with having similar interests and being with people that have the same moral commitments that you feel comfortable being with. That is basic human nature and this isn't going to change nor should it simply because some control freak tells you that you are wrong for thinking otherwise.

It's not necessarily about forcing anyone to do anything, but highlighting things we may not have thought about.

We’re doing nothing but talking good game. White Supremacy or Eugenics are about exclusion. If you don’t attack exclusion, then you are attempting to fix and assembly line after the product rolls off the line. KSA or DIE. If you’re a government worker or a veteran that has applied for a government job your qualifications are based upon: KSA = Knowledge, Skills, Ability. DIE = Diversity, Inclusion, Equity (Equity is not the same as Equality) does nothing to prove an individual’s Knowledge, Skills and Ability to do the job. If a company feels compelled to add a DIE hiring manager or change their company logo to rainbow colors to pander to the LGBTQ group or DIE group, it’s perceived as patronizing and thus that company may be suspect or actually guilty of past discriminatory hiring practices. The bottom line…any Federal, State, public or private company that discriminates against a person’s race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, economic status, veteran status or disability is in violation of State and Federal employment laws. Teach your children well.

It argues that people should be employed based on the colour of their skin, rather than abilities. It’s also quite unfair when you compare the 2001 and pre 2001 census that show a 90% white British ratio. This means that uk citizens of whatever colour should correlate roughly to these figures, however, this is skewed towards BAME. Essentially, is the uk looking to disregard these demographic figures, people who have come through the uk school system and instead skew the workplace to. BAME figures? It’s good for me, aas coming from a biracial family, I get onto any diversity schemes that white British people don’t
@charlottecollett26253 жыл бұрын
@@grucru8615 Hi, I didn't see anywhere that the video argues that people should be employed based on the colour of their skin. Under the Equality Act 2010 it is completely legal to take positive action in circumstances where people with a certain characteristic are at a disadvantage, or are under-represented. This is the equity thing that was mentioned at the start of the video: we should not treat everyone the same, we should ensure that everyone has the tools to achieve the same outcome. I wonder why you have mentioned the 2001 census when we are in the year 2021....I mean, you sound like a troll and I've already given this comment a lot of attention. Why do all the benefits just sound like things that are advantageous to the capitalist class that owns the material resources? Looks like the equality act 2010 is missing a key protected characteristic: poverty. How about we recognize poverty as a protected characteristic and seek to equalize distribution of material resources to make an economically just society?

The narrative of D.E.I. assumes facts not in evidence, that minorities are victims of systemic discrimination, and that simply isn’t true. Diversity is about recognition of minority groups based upon arbitrary (racist or discriminatory) markers, AND CATEGORIZING INDIVIDUALS INTO GROUPS BASED UPON IDENTITY RATHER THAN MERIT. Equity is about equality of outcomes rather than equality of opportunities. In other words, it is NOT merit based. It is identity based, and this is NOT fair. It seeks to distribute favourable outcomes based upon identity, rather than merit, and this a disastrous recipe for failure. Inclusion is about using discriminatory practices to EXCLUDE individuals from participation based upon merit or competence, and to INCLUDE individuals based upon identity in spite of lack of merit or competence, AND THIS IS PREJUDICIAL AND DISCRIMINATORY. D.E.I. in a nutshell.

"We have a duty to foster and embrace Equity, Diversity and Inclusion."...Why?...who said?....why do I feel like we are living through the Cultural Revolution as it played out in China . This is all very net and patronising ...and imposed. Try having a different opinion to these ideologues and see just how much diversity is tolerated. As for implicit bias....that usually goes only one way and implies white people against minorities!....if implicit bias exists then everyone has it....ask a devout muslim if he thinks kaffirs (non-muslims) are equal to muslims (according to sharia law that is not the case)....and on and on......we are adults and we do not need ideologues telling us how to behave.....that should happen organically ....otherwise everyone will be walking on eggshells scared of offending each other ( by the way no one every died from being offended)...this is all about control .......ps if you want equity get off your butt and earn it like we did in olden days.

Great presentation… but you failed to highlight the downside of this. I’m from Africa and have a very diverse team, it does not necessarily lead to innovation. There are naturally lazy people, those who are just pure evil and sabotage things, people act based on cultural beliefs (I find this especially with those from minority groups) which may hinder the way things are carried out. There is also misinterpretation or miscommunication due to differences in language / method of communication and conflicts are NEVER easy to address. These are the realities of diversity and inclusion and points I that expect to see in every video that paints diversity and inclusion as hunky-dory. It’s misleading and unrealistic to claim it’s a perfect idea.
@EndeavorLSMedia3 жыл бұрын
You have ineffective communication, lazy people, and sabotaging on your team and your explanation is that it's because of monorities and diversity? Sounds more like a lack of leadership and proper hiring/firing practices. What are the "leaders" doing about it?
