This horse has been handled before this video was posted. Much to tame for a wild, un-handled mustang.

This Horse might have been Doped up like they do to all the Horses that they run in the ring for sales to make them calmer and quieter and gentler. Please read up on the doping scheme of the Auction Houses.

Just my opinion he's either been handled before or you worked hard 23 hours and 59 minutes lol and got a good horse to gentle. I have one right now and mine is doing great. In just a few hours I had him following me with no lead rope. The one I got has not been aggressive towards me at all not once. He's very easy going.

There's no way that horse hasn't been handled before... our ranch horses aren't that broke. Nice horse!

Hey Valerie, we later found out this one had been adopted / returned before we got him from the BLM but after training nearly 100 wild mustangs there are absolutely some that come in pretty dog gentle even on day one.
@notsosilentmajority15 жыл бұрын
There is no way that this is a true wild Mustang. He seems as though he may have been owned by someone at some point in time. Perhaps he was abandoned and let loose near some wild Mustangs or maybe he ran away from an owner that just didn't care. The bottom line is this beautiful horse was handled before this adoption. He took the BLM halter without any trouble, he's being touched all over and he is letting his feet be handled, etc., etc.......all on day one!?!? No way !!
@EquineAcquisitions5 жыл бұрын
I have now trained over a hundred mustangs and they can, absolutely, be this quiet from day 1. Usually it takes a couple days for them to come around, sometimes longer. Each horse is an individual though. As I mentioned in the comments on this thread, we did find out this horse had been adopted previously and returned. We didn't know that when we picked him up / published this video.
@notsosilentmajority15 жыл бұрын
@@EquineAcquisitions Gotcha... He had been adopted and returned. That makes a lot more sense. I absolutely realize that each horse is an individual and totally respect and appreciate your experience on this topic. Most of all I would like to say "Thank You" to yourself and all of the folks that invest their time, resources and knowledge into these wonderful animals. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Well done !!

This is no wild horse. He's likely a domestic feral horse that was lucky enough to have been running with Mustangs & ended up with people again before he was eaten, killed by a lion or shot by a jerk. Hopefully someone great will buy or adopt him at the makeover.
@JimRucker7 жыл бұрын
I have a feeling that was probably a domesticated horse who someone didn't want and turned it loose amongst the wild horses....or that is a horse who just doesn't care....or maybe you gentled the horse before posting this video? Any way you have a sweet great horse
@EquineAcquisitions6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim, We did learn through the BLM that this particular horse had been previously handled. I've since trained over 100 others and there are a handful of completely wild horses that are very, very good in a day. A lot do great within a week, and some take months. It all depends on the horse :D

Grace Lui I think Cheryl is one of those natives. So you may want to be more respectful of the people whose land we stole and people we wiped out in unspeakable ways. They were here first. "Idiot"

That dog does not belong in the pen. And yes I 2 believe that this horse has been handled. He is much too quiet.
@EquineAcquisitions5 жыл бұрын
Hi Julie, thanks for the feedback. The dog is fine and the horse was fine with the dog. The comments do clarify that this horse had some prior training but after training over 100 mustangs I can tell you that some are just gentle when they come home and some take quite a bit of work. Each has their own personality but they all are worth the time and effort to gentle and find new homes!
@jeremytaylor32077 жыл бұрын
contemplating giving the tip program a try. getting tired of dealing with human clients. Atleast this way as a trainer your not dealing with people's nonsense all the time and training becomes all about the horse.
@EquineAcquisitions6 жыл бұрын
Jeremy, you still have to deal with people. With TIP you are also dealing with people that think they are getting a "cheap" horse for the $125 fee. People who have no experience, some experience etc. You don't have to deal with an owner but you still have to show the horse and give accurate information to adopters.

I asked. They said yes. The employees at the BLM corrals ultimately control whether a trainer is allowed to take a colored horse.
