I still remember exactly where I was when he died. I was babysitting my sisters son at her apartment. He was two years old. He was awake and watching ER with me because it was storming and he was scared. I sat and bawled like a baby. This was one of the more poignant moments in ER for me. It kind of changed my way of thinking!

Amanda F I can't watch these episodes often, because too much emotion. Anthony Edwards and the writers, made you believe he was a real person. You thought a real person died.

Oh gosh this was SUCH a heart breaking episode, I couldn't stop crying....:( His character was so awesome, and he's such a handsome guy ;) Dr.Greene was the best!!

I am the BIGGEST fan of ER and I never saw this deleted scene but knowing how Carter reads this and them in the ER being unaware until the big news drops that Mark died makes this scene harder. Cause he wasn't drinking mimosas and sitting on the beach as Rachel and Ella played he was dying in his bed as Elizabeth wrote... I'm going to go sob now

I remember watching Anthony Edwards in "Revenge of the Nerds" 1 and 2. I recently seen him in a film called "Gotcha". I knew he was on this show but ER never really interest me when it aired. I can't believe he lost so much of his hair. I know in an interview, he said his hair started falling out with he was 24. Anyway, I'm a "newbie" to his work. I saw him in "Top Gun" few days ago. He played "Goose" in that film. I remember seeing him host Saturday Night Live long time ago. I taped some parts but not the whole thing.

i also think it was because he started to see double so they put a patch on one eye so he could see without the double exposure.

@adamsv1000 yikes... strong words there... If there weren't bad times, we would not be able to appreciate the good times as much. Without suffering there would be no compassion. Disasters happen, I believe, to give us a chance to help each other out, to consider others before ourselves. Maybe the good people die to remind us to appreciate our loved ones more while they are with us and to take action against evil when they are taken away, for example, by drunk drivers. We could stop that evil.

I remember a scene I watched as an young kid. I think green charged the young doctors to write a letter on their first they of work. I think they should describe why they wanted to become physicians. Can somebody remember the scene? Was it actually on ER?

@Siobanphotogirl I tell those teen agers that I see what my sister has to go trough in order to raise her kids. Take them here, take them there, If they hill to go to this doctor and that doctor since they are still babies. So, my point is that is is a big shame that parents have to do above and byond in order to keep the kids healty and once they grow up a little the just destroy their health. I ask them "why do you even smoke" But the only answer I get is to fuck off and mind my own business.

When I see a young teenager that smokes I find the need to tell them that one of my good friends had a kid who was born with defective lungs. Therefor she has to carry an oxygen tank with her every where. And while she has a great desire to live they, they teen agers kill their lungs with cigarettes, Most of the time those kids just tell me to fuck off.
