Poor Abby. I can't believe that dude did that to her. And he was supposedly her friend. This just proves you don't have to be in a relationship with an abuser to be a victim of domestic violence.

She should have kept the door bolted shut and called the police. Better yet, why didn't she bother to look through the peep-hole, before opening the door, and then call the police, in the first place?

Anyone else want to blame the victim?
@wiymmf3 жыл бұрын
If clear evidence of a crime has been presented, and in this instance it is clearly presented to the viewer... It would take a specially ignorant sort to blame the victim. Frankly speaking, your example is a little disingenuous. Adopting "We should always believe the victims" is fraught with pitfalls. A simple Google search will disabuse anyone from blindly adhering to "We should always believe the victims." I wish we lived in a world where every single victim of abuse could incontrovertibly prove their case, but we do not live in that world just yet. The best we have is innocent until proven guilty. On the off chance your reply will consist of, "You have no idea how a victim feels." I assure you that I do. I'm just acutely aware of the consequences of believing anyone on faith alone. It's an awful feeling, to not have anything tangible to levy against one's abuser, and one lives with that for the remainder of their life. Unfortunately, that's part of the price for living in a world where we value evidence over feelings. As much as I have struggled with this, I would rather live in a world where reason, logic and evidence are valued above all else. A society that places a premium on such values is bound to do more good than bad. It's a painful trade-off in this instance, but one that I'll make every single time.

She didn't know that was him

@@marvinmoore2720 She did know it was him that's why she dials 911 before opening the door, the things is she shouldn't have opened the door at all but as she says later, she was drinking (remember she's an alcoholic) therefore she wasn't able to make all the right decisions.
