MrAnimepredator i feel like the main reason all the restaurants seemed to be doing very well in the months following after Gordon’s visit is because Gordon was there... like how in every episode a normally empty restaurant will be booked beyond capacity at the mere mention of Gordon being there. I think Gordon hyped the places up (just by being associated with them) which made the restaurants seem so successful but the hype eventually dies out and the restaurant fails again.

He just explains why their food, service and environment are destroying their business; more often it's the owners who are intimidated by Gordon and resort to self aggrandisement to save their battered egos.

If you watch the episode with Amy's Baking Company, he's trying (and failing) to sit down and reason with the owners, and one of them refers to the entire thing in context as a show. Gordon immediately fired back with how it wasn't a show to him, and how it's about helping a restaurant that genuinely needed all it could get.

Given all this comfort, I really did not like - from the start of this program - Michael's attitude toward his older brother. He obviously believes his older brother to be a failure, both in his profession and in life. How would *you* feel if you had a younger sibling mocking and humiliating you all the time? So I wasn't surprised that Michael turned out to be the one lacking the real courage. Yes, I have my doubts about Nino's persistence too. Gosh, I guess Nino has those doubts himself. Yet the one *really* not answering to the call here is Michael, plain and simple.
