Very excited to get the Crystal Super! Have been using my Crystal for the past year, and it’s been my go-to PCVR headset. I’ve not wanted to change headsets, but the Super seems so dang special that I’ve got to buy it. Thanks for investing in the Supers ergonomics. Comfort is based on how well the headset is balanced and designed, not weight, and it seems you all have improved on that immensely. And I already think my Crystal with comfort mods is a more comfortable PCVR headset than the Index, Quest 3, Aero, etc. Cheers Pimax for giving us VR enthusiasts something to push forward into the future!

Will the speakers be fully removable this time? They are always bothering me with the Crystal. I have a speaker system that I use, so I don't need speakers on my Crystal. But when I remove them, the headset falls into pieces. Is this solved with the Crystal Super?

One of the problems with the Crystal headset I'm using is that the headstrap moves upwards whenever I look up far enough. Forcing me to haft to re-adjust the headset allmost everytime I look up past a certain point. Rather annoying. 😕

Another huge misstep from Pimax not to launch this headset with the 135 fov panels on default. I'm sure 95% of customers would want higher fov instead of higher ppd.

@@ronartest8638 Considering the size differences I'm almost sure that one of those lenses will have serious issues with sweet spot (or ghosting, or chromatic aberration or whatever), they just don't tell. Also ridiculous that to this day they haven't highlighted anything about one of the most important things, namely bandwidth and DP1.4. I think Pimax just doesn't learn. They offer this product with three panel options but have only one available at launch using a completely unnecessary and indistinct payment construction. A total mess.

​@@Szabby999 My guess is that they're still fiddling with the design of the wide-FOV lenses for the 50ppd version, just like the wider lenses for the OG Crystal, which still haven't been available for sale 18 months later. Fortunately, the significantly-larger panels should make the design task easier and get a better result for the Super. I agree with you; I think the best course of action would have been to release ONLY the 135/50ppd version and market the hell out of it, releasing the other two engines sometime later. Three versions, plus the Prime thingie, just confuse potential customers and cause them (including me) to wait for feedback and reviews before deciding which one to buy - that take a big bite out of Pimax cashflow for months. I'd prefer the wider FOV version for flight-sims, but I want to hear from users how well those lenses work before ordering. I can move the DMAS over from my OG Crystal and don't mind paying $35 for delivery, so it's easy for me to skip the preorder offers. 😴

I'm so close to canceling my order. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks. I've been waiting. It hasn't even shipped yet. I'm in the US accounting to the Pimax website it's 3 to 7 day shipping. I have emailed, left Discord messages, and submitted a ticket. No one has responded.

Pimax jumps to a new product without properly supporting existing products. I bought the original Crystal to have Wide FoV lenses and wireless module and, 1.5+ years after I still can't buy them :(

First thing that needs to be addressed is Lenses for glasses wearers, I have Q3 and AVP never had any issues in the lenses because both worked with specific manufacturer for lenses and made sure the lenses fit the headsets properly, while Pimax I always get lost with lenses, I wasted so much money trying one company after another and nearly all have issues. So I wish Pimax can work with a lenses company and provide the headset to them during development before release so they can make properly custom made lenses for it than something barely fits and usually have issues.

I have had the same issue with my OG Crystal. I have tried lenses from 3 different manufactures and none worked well. I believe Pimax uses a 1 meter focal point where tother manufactures use 2 meter focal point?? I had one company tell me there small VR glasses works with all VR headsets which I found out was not true, different focal point with lenses matter. Can Pimax confirm if you are still using a 1 meter focal point for the Super like the OG?

When I look at the Crystal Super with its smaller frame, it's larger lenses, it's new hi-res, hi-ppd panel, I wonder how much OG Crystal DNA remains in the Super. I would suspect not an awful lot. Looks to be mainly a new headset? In which case no reason to think it would share that same perculiarity with the OG Crystal -but it would be nice to know (...waiting for the reviews)

I think it is probably because they include stuffs that they excluded from CL such as automatic IPD adjustment, DFR, top strap, eye relief strap...ect.. If you removed those, it is probably lighter than the CL...but people like those features.

Imagine, that for the weight distribution you actually move weight and heat off your face. Electronics and cables - behind, lenses and cameras - in front. Top must be soft. Forehead strap will leave a mark and will destroy your hair ;]

Please make 35ppd lense for Crystal Super so we can even get bigger FOV. 3880p with 35ppd is plenty sharp enough consider original Crystal is only 2880p resolution with 35ppd and its already damm sharp visual. 57ppd lense is pointless since i don't have microsope built into my eyeball

It really depends on the person. I'm like Rufy on gear second so yeah, it fog up much in my case, and I have a CV1 that as you know it has a large amount of breathable material even around the lenses.

I planned to buy Pimax Crystal Super but then cancelled it because: After your 14 day trial period ends, refunds are no longer possible. If the headset broken because of bad QC after 14 days and they don't have replacement they only refund you for $999. Pure greedy like Adobe subscription.... Jeeez...

@ My point is you can't wear glasses in a Pimax Crystal. There's no room without modification. You can't even install thin corrective lens in a Pimax Crystal without modification. I'm very happy with my Crystal, modified with a 22mm face gasket - but I still object to the statement that the Crystal was ergonomically designed to fit glasses. It was a lie when Pimax made this claim during the initial marketing for the Crystal, and it's a lie now. I still hope to buy the Crystal Super, after it's been widely reviewed - but I'm still going to call out nonsense when I hear it.
