Clapton does not get the recognition he deserves as a very, very soulful singer. One of the true greats in our lifetime.

For a man known for his career as a guitar wizard the man became a poet lyrically and proved to have one of the best voices in music.

Clapton always has lyrics that can touch you no matter what mood you are in...

One of my favourite Eric Clapton albums, Behind The Sun. A heartfelt ending to a very good collection of songs performed by Clapton. I can understand how someone can love another human being as powerfully as this song communicates but, personally, I would not have the energy nor would I want to be burdened with this kind of painful emotion.

First time I heard this I was in the car on the freeway, heading home from work... reminded me someone I'd lost and loved very much. It was all I could do but to pull over immediately and just cry for a half an hour. It's both right and wrong that a song can do that to a person.

This song is about a heart that's been broken - Clapton's. His ex-wife ran off w/George Harrison.

I'm reading Phil Collins "not dead yet" bio, and he mentions that this song was recorded last minute in his own studio, and added late to the album.
@donnietobasco97912 жыл бұрын
Recorded in Phil Collin's bedroom/studio apparently....the one he wrote all his Face Value songs in. The light synth supporting the guitar and vocal was Collins. (REF: "Not Dead Yet" by Phil Collins - Chapter 12)

@just diane Far from it. Read his lyrics below to She's Waiting and tell me he's "a hypocrite.": She's been waiting for another love, Someone that she can show into her heart. And when she finally finds a stronger love, Your whole world's gonna fall apart. She's waiting for another love. You've been abusing her for far too long; Think you're a king and she's your pawn. Get ready now, 'cause pretty soon She'll be gone and you'll be on your own.

@@filmneye I read his book and I've been reading about him in Rolling Stone & other music stuff for many years. I'm not saying he didn't write some good songs. I like a few of his a lot, actually. It's just him personally. But thanks for the lyrics 🙂 ( I do believe he's talking about himself in those words)

You're right, good is an adjective that doesn't do this song justice. Excellent is a far better way to describe the quality of this song.

@@zoe-janesutherland4359 Sounds like Phil Collins. If you like that pop rock fair play. I prefer Clapton playing the blues and the harder the better especially late 60s era.
