I recently purchased a DF3. It’s the real deal. I have always putted horribly. It’s easy to swing correctly and get face on path properly and the roll on the ball is pure. Update, just won my division in the Sr. League tourney, shot an 82 with two strokes for a net 80. And that was with a stupid 8 on a par 5 (not a putting issue). I have so much confidence with this putter! Golf is fun again.

I’ve had a lab putter for about a year now without any training, I wish they’d made this a year ago! It explains why I’ve been struggling with it, especially when he talks about this part with the thumbs off the putter and taking a stroke with it, mine has the large grip, Which explains why there’s very little thumb part sure involved with the putting stroke. I had noticed when my thumbs were on the club and I might squeeze it. It was causing some definite problems with my line and my aim. Also, in the set up, I did finally figure out that having ball near the front of my foot made the stroke better with flat contact against the ball.

Eric, because of your previous video with Sam, it got me thinking about the L.A.B. putters. A few more KZbin videos about their products, and I ended up purchasing a MEZZ 1 Max. I am still waiting to receive it. I really appreciate the questions that you asked Sam on how to use the putter correctly (ball forward, shaft tip slightly ahead of center, keep the shaft on plane, etc.). It's as if I received a user manual for my new putter. I am so excited for my putter to arrive and can't wait to put it in my bag. Thank you for another excellent video.

@@MPHshoots I really like the L.A.B. putter. Playing the ball forward in my stance and keeping the shaft on-plane is excellent advice. I took the putter to the practice green and worked on my pace (ball speed) before taking it out onto the course. It takes a little practice to dial-in the speed, but the L.A.B. putter works as advertised. I find that my misses are tap-in pars and I have made several long putts from >10 feet. Yes, it's expensive, but it is new technology and I'm a believer and happy customer.

Hey guys, I got the DF3, standard length. Putting has always been problematic for me with standard putters. If I don't concentrate really carefully, the face twists sending me offline. It took me a couple of rounds, but yesterday I had a 27 putt round (on freshly aerated greens!), which is exceptional for me. I was sinking numerous putts that I probably would have missed before and my long lag putts were leaving me within a couple feet from the hole. So count me as a believer. The DF3 is transforming my game!

@@mattp1914 yes, mine was straight from the floor at Golf Galaxy where I could spend time making sure it felt right. Now that I've played a bunch of rounds with it, I like it even more. I recently tweaked my stroke with it and started sinking a lot of long putts. Very satisfying!

19 handicap here...and not the best putter. Just bought a stock DF3 yesterday (34/35 length and 69 lie angle). Immediately played a round with it (in the rain) and only had one 3-putt. 32 putts total - lowest number of putts I've ever had in a round. Looking forward to practicing with it and playing in some nice weather!

I got lucky and picked up a 2.1 at a PGA Superstore for $250. It was returned by a guy who bought 2 of them then traded them back unused. It's totally stock but seems perfect for me. I roll putts perfect since using it. I use Taylormade response stripe balls so I get great feedback. Now I just have to learn how to read greens! The putts go where I aim them.

Thank you!! You can do a fitting in person or online!! You dont HAVE to do a fitting (like any other club/company) but I'd always recommend it!

The standard off the shelf comes with a 69 degree lie angle in 34 or 35” lengths. I measured 71 degrees. A mere mortal amateur will not notice a 2 deg. Difference in lie angle. I purchased the 69 deg. And am loving it. Best putter ever. I highly recommend the online fitting they have a video to help you. You want the putter to fit you, not you try and fit the putter. I was fit by a fitter locally who had the LAB lie angle fitting club.

Hey Matt! As with all clubs I would always suggest a fitting IF YOU CAN.....to me that goes for ANY KIND of club....putter, driver, irons, wedges, etc. Can you get them without getting fit and them help....definitely!

@@mattp1914 it is the design of the head and weighting system that keeps the face from twisting not the shaft. Does a higher market shaft make a difference in feel? Yes, the stock shaft is fine. Does an upgraded shaft equate to making more putts? I have no idea since I have never compared them personally because I don’t have the stock shaft. I did see an article about the TPT shaft vs their previous shaft, and some claimed they were able to “make a tighter dispersion” around the hole with the expensive shaft over the stock shaft. Was that the shaft or some psychological benefit? The thing is, the guys I play against don’t let me make multiple attempts to sink a putt so it doesn’t matter if one circle is slightly better than the other. Just that you get it close enough to make the next one if the first one doesn’t go in.

@@mattp1914 That makes a huge difference. Besides, it’s free and simply to get custom fit. You simply setup to the ball with your existing putter in front of a door frame and make a stroke and email it to them through their on line fitting. The will communicate with you and tell you what you need, or even fix a flaw and have you do it again. Then see if your local store has one to fit you in stock, or even the used market. But proper set up and stroke are key and having a putter to fit you, instead of you trying to fit your putter.

I learned about LAB about 2 months ago, and the next day played with a new guy in our group who had one. Started watching him and he couldn't get the putter to lay flat, he had the toe up routinely. He putts poorly and I finally acknowledge the putter and try to tell him what I see and understand. He tells me that he bought it off of eBay with no fitting. I try again to explain it, and he's not open to the feedback. He has like 40 putts in the round, LMAO. The lesson, get fitted the tech is unreal. My next putter, someday.

Yeah I think you'll see more and more I've seen 4-5 with the long putter mezz with guys like Adam Scott, Lucas Glover, Will Z, etc..... I saw Phil Mickelson with DF3 at masters....Wesley Bryan just got 2nd with link. Charles Howell 3 with link....I think you'll see more and more...I've seen about 10 or so players out on PGA/LIV with them that I've noticed which is awesome!

Mostly this is a really good putting lesson. Every golf club is toe down and we manage to get them back to square, The thumbs off idea is similar to Tiger’s one hand drill. It teaches you a perfectly balanced position which brings the putter back to square at impact. Works with an 8802 putter and anything else.

Left eye dominant would be beneficial obviously. Centre shaft putter is the key. Right eye dominant people might not like the setup as it’s not natural for them. Left eye dominant right handed players are a huge minority but most pros are. I feel lucky to be one. Link might be better for the majority? You should never test putters with the same putt over and over. Whatever works but there is more to putting than this. The great equalizer gives you one shot each hole, then maybe a tough 4 foot come backer. Lol

I use a long putter. Would you suggest a DF3 or DF 2.1 model???? Or... should I consider the length putter like Lucas Glover? Not quite as long shaft - maybe closer to the ball with the hands. Comments???????

Yeah thats a great question.....I think they are all good :) Personally I am splitting time between the long putter with mezz and the normal length with the DF 2.1. I like the DF3 as well but for me personally the Df 2.1 is my gamer! Try getting a fitting and see which you like best!

Idk how anybody could answer your question without more information than “I use a long putter.” Like, how long? And why? And how tall are you? And what does your posture look like over the ball? LAB does free remote fittings. Take a video and send it to them and see what they say. It’ll be better than whatever nonsense you might get in response to your question here.

I will send in the videos. I use 2 long putters of different lengths. So... the stroke will be different with each one. Just wondered on the shorter Lucas Glover version. - different feel, maybe more over the ball, etc. - just general comments was what I was looking for. They will help me dial it in. @@evandh1989

Yes it’s expensive, but leading putters aren’t far off. The usual ‘tech filled’ mallet or blade not called Scotty are roughly $350. $450 really isn’t THAT far off if you’re looking to make a putter upgrade. New golf clubs in general are very pricey, but it’s not that far away from the rest of the pack.

I got a df3. Been using it for months now...and its not anything special. You can use any other putter just like this one... Don't squees too tight...and trust your putter can be said about any other putter. I am sorry I spent this much money on it.

People with really great strokes that don't make putts just cannot read a green and/or hit the correct line with correct pace. All putters are just hunks of metal at the end of a stick. I tried to connect a LAB putter to the local wifi with zero success! So where is the tech in a milled hunk of metal? Hell, there isn't even a USB port!
