Best AT tour yet, and I've been following for a very long time. The people are interesting leaders in their communities and the way that translates in their home is meaningful and beautiful. The fact that class, race, gentrification and displacement are even mentioned, let alone directly confronted is progress for AT. More progressive POC leaders homes please.

Yep. The space is beautiful and shows two warm, interesting people surrounded by the things that are most important to them, so even on a very surface level it's a really enjoyable tour, but more importantly, the representation and what they express about that really deserve space to be seen and heard - Blackness, queerness, the issue of misgendering, externally/racially enforced housing instability (not topics that get a huge quantity of column inches on AT - frankly I've seen people clutch their pearls in the comments at the merest mention of anything social or political, as if the right to make a stable home for oneself isn't inherently political), and the way these folks have created a home which is a safe place not just for them but for anyone they welcome through the doors. Also I want to peruse their bookshelves for DAYS.

This is a pretty big place by NYC standards. It would be interesting to know what they’re paying for rent. With that said I love their taste level. I’ve always had a weakness for bohemian furnishings. Probably more for nostalgia reasons than anything else. That’s the decor my aunt had when I was growing up and I loved her place so much. She had rattan, macrame, colorful Tibetan rugs and hanging plants everywhere 😊

This home has push my narrative of knowing that BUYING BLACK is more common than we realize though it needs to be spoken about more often than not. The hubby and I have spoken about the pieces we want to bring into our home when we buy our house.
