As a physio I'm encouraged the way you got out of that physio appointment.. most likely pain has multiple factors... Good way to look at it is that in western countries about 80% over 30yo have spinal disc pathology, UT not that many has any issues with it... Joint dysfunction develops multifaceted adaptations all around the body and might bring some surrounding or far away tissues under load they are not prepared thus developing issues of function or pain or both..

Eric, great video as always! I'm so excited to see you continue your journey into trail running! However, since it doesn't seem like you have a full picture of what's going on with your hip, at least not yet, please be careful to not make things worse. 50K is certainly not nothing and the Black Canyon races are more competitive. I always have to remind myself: the mountains and trails aren't going anywhere, my ability to enjoy them could if I don't listen to my body.

Eric, you’re an insanely talented storyteller so whatever format and frequency you land on, I’m here for it and I’m sure TTL naysh is too Good luck with your hip. Had a full replacement in my late 30s and did 70.3 Palm Springs a few years later. Hip issues are no fun but they can be overcome. Stay positive

Good morning from Vancouver Island! Eric, so happy to hear some optimism about your hip with a new PT. I work as an RMT and closely with other PTs and have lots of clients with success without labral surgery. However, every body is different and you demand so much of your body daily, I hope you do what is best for yours! Good luck!

Hi, there a little late but here as always, I hate missing premieres but never miss an episode, great catch up although I know your super busy and don't release videos weekly anymore, love it when we get one. As for next season our pre season is ramping up here to, Off to a few races next season, after some time on a low after losing my mum last April and having to cancel T100 Ibiza, but that and others are on the radar for 2025 as I am back! working as my dear mum would expect living a life less ordinary, and as we all know there is nothing ordinary about being a triathlete, Pro or age grouper. stay safe both hope to see you out there in 2025, much love from the UK David x

I had similar hip issues...acetabular impingement with torn labrum. Got to point where it was difficult to walk or sleep due to pain. I had surgery over 10 years ago and couldn't be happier.

Thanks for this video Eric and Paula. Just one quick question for Paula. Have you thought about putting the saddle slightly further forward as well on your TT bike? I’m guessing the front of the saddle is 5cm back from BB atm for UCI position.
@ThatTriathlonLife2 күн бұрын
Yep I actually mentioned that with the new seat post we got, but I guess that wasn’t very clear. They have a seat post that moves the saddle forward about 3cm, so we started with that 👍

@@ThatTriathlonLife it's no biggie just out here evangelizing for the good folks at Aravaipa. also, hope the labrum starts feeling better! I tore mine running track in college and had it repaired but it didn't take / surgeon didn't shave the impingement so it's still torn. PT and strengthening has helped me a ton and I'm delaying another surgery for as long as possible. unless it's locking/clicking a bet you can keep pushing

I’ve had both hips surgically repaired with labrum tears and FAI (cam type). Let me know if you have any questions And I highly recommend finding a dr that has specializes in this surgery and has done 1000+ of them.

Hey, thanks for the awesome videos. Wanted to give some feedback on the cuts when filming somebody talking: Aggressive cropping out small bits leads to a jerky and unnatural feeling. For example kzbin.info/www/bejne/roaUhHWugbipf80 (the following ~30s where Paula talks about the bike fit) - very dizzying effect to have a small jump in the video every second!
@paula_findlay2 күн бұрын
Guess I need to be more concise in my interviews 😜
@firstlast11742 күн бұрын
@@paula_findlay No, I doubt you went off on tangents there. This is some very short bits cropped out (usually pauses). I just wanted to put my voice in to say that I like some pauses and I like the video being continuous and not jumping around like that :). The same thing also happens here in the intro when Eric talks: kzbin.info/www/bejne/roaUhHWugbipf80 - even though it is a little less extreme than my original example, for me it disrupts the flow of the video.
