Hi Eric! I'm new on your channel and i found your works amazing! I saw a lot fo your videos about make terrains and... MAY I CHALLENGE YOU?? I have never found a video of anyone making the interior of a biostarship, like the tyranids hive ships. I think the difficult part is to create a biological aspect, being the inside of a living being, rather than a biomechanical aspect, as many tend to create in certain drawings that I see on the net, like Giger style. What do you think about it? would you like to test yourself and your skills? (sorry for my english, it is too much time that i don't use it)

You have a great channel. I enjoy your scratch builds for diorama. Great to watching create some impressive out simple everyday stuff. Fantastic at painting. Tip for your decals. Micro set and micro sol are great products. Make a world of difference, but perhaps these are the extra steps you didn’t add in the video. So I apologize if these are things you already knew. Been building scale models for 20 years now. Minis are just always so much fun to paint. Anywho I’m putting my full steps instead of just the ones I thought were missing for decal application: 1. Apply a gloss coat on the area that will receive a decal. Spray or brush on gloss varnish (Vallejo) will work just fine. The gloss coat when dry creates a super slick surface which will allow air to escape from underneath the water slide transfer decal. A flat surface will trap air and create micro air bubbles. The micro air bubbles then create a shiny silvering affect on the translucent decal paper surrounding the decal. Look up decal silvering. You’ll see what I mean. 2. Apply the decal, use micro set if you want. I really don’t find it’s that necessary. I use the partner product micro sol and I get the same result. 3. After the decal has dried apply micro sol and the decal will soften entirely and suck onto or into irregular surfaces like panel lines. 4. Once it is dry, seal the decal with a clear coat. I usually apply a flat to undo the effects of the gloss sheen. Check out mr hobby for a great flat clear coat. Super dry in application. Worth the extra money. Also it really preserves dry pigment powder effects unlike every other flat clear coat I’ve used. Great video!

3rd edition boxset was my first foray into the WH universe...found the game easy to learn and the aesthetics unmatched. Hook, line and sinker. 20 years later, I'm still a fiend for the lore, but have scaled down to skirmish level and narrative play...mostly because of the rule-of-cool to which You've alluded in the initial stages of list building and avoid the cyclical rules/loadout changes (Terminators can ride in a Landraider, but Primarus can't!?! @11:25 great idea! I feel stupid that this didn’t occur to me xD At the end of the day, the best way to save money in this hobby is to limit your purchases. The easiest method: only buy new minis, when everything else is built and painted and buy hobby supplies when you need them for a project. I don’t know a single wargamer, who doesn’t have at least a 3 digit number in purchases lying around unbuilt or unpainted. That easily eats up the difference of buying from your FLGS vs a discounted online shop =)

While I agree that recasting and/or printing stls that are 1:1 copies is ethically suspect, I don't know if using full third party minis/bits is; especially if said third party stuff is a different take or style. GW doesn't own every variation on armored galaxy solider and me playing with my 3d printed dudes who are someone else vision of said soldiers is none of GW's concern nor is it taking anything from them (especially when I'm paying for the ridiculous amount of books and expansions needed to play...). Obvs they can do what they want for required models at their stores and tournaments, but I don't think everyday people playing at home or their independent local should feel at all bad for playing with their lovingly painted/printed minis from any number of legit creators. Micro Sol and Set are game changers!
@EricsHobbyWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
They don’t own space soldiers, but space marines have some very clear visual identifiers that make them distinct from any other sci fi soldiers i have seen, notably the flare of the armour at the ankle, and the big pauldrons. We all know when a company is doing their own unique sci fi super soldiers vs faux space marines.

@@EricsHobbyWorkshop Do we though? The Black Knights line from The Makers Cults have chonky cankles and big shoulder pads, but I'd say they're nothing like GW space marines. Inspired by? Sure.
