That red CNJ caboose is so awesome! Definitely my favorite piece of rolling stock from this video! I've seen the blue NJ Transit CNJ Heritage locomotive in person twice. Also, Atlas makes some killer stuff, while my bias of living in New Jersey not too far from where Atlas is headquartered doesn't help, I do believe that they are one of the best model train manufacturers. I have a brand new never run Atlas O NJ Transit ALP-44 #4402 as well as the matching extremely rare 3 pack of Comet II coaches and I've seen all three cars from the pack in person (granted renumbered because they got renumbered in the late 90's/early 2000's but I only have pictures of two of the three) and I even got to ride on a train that had one of the coaches from the pack. Also, I have on order the HO Master Gold Atlas 100 Anniversary ALP-45DP 4503 and I saw the real life locomotive on Christmas Eve 2023 which was super special (that wasn't at my local station though unfortunately; It's passed by several times in the evening but I was always too busy to be able to get out and see it).

Are the Mernards tank cars scale or semi-scale? I want to purchase a Sancair oil car
@RailRide6 ай бұрын
With tank cars it's hard to say definitively, since the real thing came in all different sizes. The Menards cars are clones of the MTH RailKing 'modern tank car', but sit higher on their trucks. Are they deliberately designed to be an accurate scale model of a _specific_ make of real-life tanker? I'd say no. Can you find a real-life tank car with the same general dimensions? I'd bet money on it. Watch a video of a modern mixed freight and I can guarantee you'll see tankers of wildly varying sizes hitched to one another. Personally, I have no problem running cars like this mixed with Premier/Master line tank cars thanks to this.I only wish more of them came in realistic roadnames like the UTLX versions. Whizzing by at a scale 40-50mph (16-20 inches per second on your layout) you'd never know who made them.
