Great to see Bernie again! He photographed my NTRAK modules many, many years ago for a magazine article when I lived in Northern VA. A wonderful photographer and person.

I live near Aquia, and to see a layout of our little homely area featured in so many publications is just amazing. The layout itself is just superb!

Incredible and late 1800’s era layouts are my absolute favorite. Not often you see O scale layouts much less one at this level of quality. Before building my main layout I considered building the late 1800’s indianola Texas railroad just so I could have 2-3 long wharfs out into the bay and i absolutely love the rail infrastructure of that time however I opted to model all of Calhoun county and the Austwell branch just outside Calhoun county and it’s modeled between 1910-1930. Thank you for sharing this! Just beautiful

How cool! I love this early period. Such an explosion of technology enabling railroad expansion all over the new nation. ❤

Just seen this on Jenny Kirks Monday club. Absolutely stunning layout, most American layouts we at UK exhibitions are 1950's, modern day or set in California during the gold rush and logging times.

This really is a great layout.......a museum level display. I have a SMR B&O 0-8-0 3 rail loco. I think it is from a batch SMR rejected and they sold cheap. LOVE to have some of those 4-4-0 locos. Hope pt2 is soon. Thanks

This pike is magnificent, albeit the anthesis I what the hobby is for me.......imagination only!!! Kempinski's modeling skills and talent for research are quite remarkable and then some. This period of history does have my complete interest, and I once was going to model the 1865 period only in HO, but I found it more enjoyable (for me only) to make things up, not copying a period in time, with architecture and equipment. My musical interest and preference are from this time in history as I once played in an old timey string band with banjo, guitar and harmonica......and most or our tunes were from the civil war era. We still have some CD's left as we recorded four....the first being on old railroad songs. Al, your coverage of Kempinski's work is rather excellent, and again this pike is among the best I have ever seen. Congrats Bernie!!!!

Hi Al! Love all your videos - just fantastic work! I’m writing to ask if you know of any videos that show how Mr. Judy made all of the different types of trees that we see on his layouts? These without a doubt are the best trees that I’ve ever seen! Even the ones in the very back of the scenery seem to be individually placed there, not just painted in as most modelers do. And the trunks on those in the foreground are incredibly realistic as is the foliage on those same trees.Thank you for any advice you could offer. Hank P.S. I don’t know what happened- I obviously meant for this comment to be attached to Mr.Judy’s video that I had just watched, but it somehow got attached to this vid by a different modeler! Sorry - thanks again.

@hankmackie thanks Hank I only knew Al Judy a very brief time before he passed away. I wish I had more videos to share from him but time did not allow it. I would check doing a KZbin search for model tree making
