Well done to all the shooters, i wish i could do it, the 2nd shooter was totally off the charts, to use the mil spec reticle to adjust on the fly like that is how your supposed to do it in the real world, especially if the weapon is not sighted in for 500 yards, like knowing where the rifles is sighted in and then to adjust is amazing. Keep up the great work Erik and all the potential new shooters. 👌✌🦘👍

I once hit a 4" wooden post at 500yd with my grandpa's old Model 94 .30-30 in one shot. But I hit it right at the bottom of the post, and it was definitely pretty lucky. I heard the thwack and I found the bullet in embedded in the wood but that's all the proof I have. Do you think it would be worth it to load 220eldx or 225 eldm at sami coal or would the loss of powder and jump to lands make it point less? My thinking is with the heavier bullet and similar length to the 200 eldx the taper from point to ojive would be more of an angle making the jump less

Do you “assemble” houses or “build” houses? Just cuz most dont mine the lee or wood doesn’t mean u dont build houses. Mill the 2x4s? Same goes for guns. Just cuz u didnt rifle the barrel or machine the action, doesn’t mean u dodnt build ur gun. Just my 2c
@ErikCortina6 ай бұрын
Not a good analogy. You still had to cut the 2x4’s to length, mix mortar, pour concrete, etc. You don’t buy the slab pre-built and drop the framing on top of it. He was correct, he assembled it.
@deeeeeeps6 ай бұрын
An engine builder machines all the clearances to spec. An engine assembler puts the parts together. I'm not sure i'd call someone who pulls in a manfuctured home on a trailer a builder.
@allthingsconsidered32116 ай бұрын
You add roll pins and grease like u do sealants and nails, you add shims to time muzzle devices, like you “cut to length” 2x4s. You cut and fab ax units like u ream chambers. You measure dimensions like u measure headspace and ammo. All seems similar to me. I’m guessing ammo manufactures have to make their own gunpowder, mine their lead raw materials and make bullets etc. I think we get too caught up with nomenclature and put down people work when they accomplish a goal. So we’ve told him he’s just an assembler. A house does entail a lot more. I just think differently. Keep up the show. Cheers

C'mon Erik, I watched those replays with the red circles at 2160 P w on my very expensive laptop & it was crystal clear that those shots missed. Now those targets don't move as much as the other guys when they hit but, that large target moved plenty when you hit it. If the target don't move, you didn't hit it. C'mon man, your reputation is worth more than that.
@ErikCortina6 ай бұрын
You need a more expensive laptop. 😂 The red circle shows the paint chip coming off the top left corner just above the bolt. You can also hear the impact. On the other shot you can clearly see the bullet path vs where it impacted the berm. It’s not about me, it was showing how the 6 ARC is running out of juice by 500.
@rotasaustralis6 ай бұрын
@@ErikCortina They're small hanging targets Erik &, there's no perceptible movement at all. The bullet has a pressure wave which could probably knock some paint chips off on it's way past. If you want to count that, it's your game & you make the rules. The fact that the projectile would visibly move that hanging plate easily at 500 yrds is relatively simple to prove. You are allowed to miss you know &, it may not be that it's you missing at all. It could be the projectiles CG offset straight out the barrel. You could / should record a statistical test of the rifle/ammo/ shooter system. That would make an excellent vid on the real world hit probability at those targets at that range. Finally we're seeing the truth about the 1/4 MOA all day rifles & shooters as a few guys like yourself are showing the real world results. By the way, I think the guys that put themselves in the spotlight are brave souls & should not feel embarrassed. It's damn hard shooting targets that size at 500 yrds, it's just that we've all been conned into thinking that it's easy. Excellent video anyhow Eric..
@ErikCortina6 ай бұрын
lol, I was not counting the shots. They don’t count if the spotter doesn’t say “impact”, I know this because that just how competition works. Targets when hit a certain way hardly move, sometimes not at all as in this case. You can see the bullet wake going right at it, you can also see the paint chip come off, and most importantly, you can hear the impact.
