_Ku Bersuara_ can be translated as _I'm Speaking Out_ The song is about the abuse inflicted on women, and overcoming the fear to speak out in letting others know of their predicament. Hence her "breaking out of her cocoon to emerge as a freed butterfly" once she was able to finally "speak out." The contraption on her back was actually her "wings," that were initially hidden inside the shroud she wore in the beginning. Very symbolic, you see.

After watching several reaction videos on Ernie, I think that’s the silver lining behind AJL. She wasn’t awarded with any, but after AJL, she gained recognitions from all around the world, and that matters more. Bravo to Ernie!

The song (Ku Bersuara) is about women being physically and emotionally abused and misused by men (being raped, sold for prostitution etc) through sweet promises and guaranteed future while those aren't even exist. She's afraid to voice out and stand up to herself for it but one day, received self confidence and bravery and to report these men and get what they deserved in jails. This song encourages women to be stronger and not to be afraid of standing up and men. You may check the MV for more mood for the song. Thank you so much for appreciating Ernie Zakri because she didn't get enough attentions and recognitions from our own country. Love you reaction as always. Actually the dress symbolised something but I forget what is. But after they pull the clothes, it symbolised freedom, beautiful butterfly can freely fly. The gimmick was related to the meaning of the song actually. This song is about woman who arises from being abused and bullied. Even actually, they pull the clothes exactly at the time she sang 'Terlerai cengkaman Jiwa' which means she is now free from all the troubles. But you will not easily find she performed like this. Through AJL, if you want to know more great vocalists, besides Ernie Zakri, do check out a few of these names: - Siti Nurhaliza (Malaysia's ultimate no.1 singer of all time, in my opinion anyways) - Aishah (Forever a legend) - Jaclyn Victor (A "beast" vocalist) - Dayang Nurfaizah (if you want soul) - Ziana Zain (another legendary singer) - Shila Amzah (internationally renown in East Asia) These are just a few Malaysian female vocalists I can recommend. I'm sure others can give other recommendation.
