Does anyone understand why Tina did not accept Erwin proposal for marriage despite his immense love and commitment to her? Abandonment Trauma, CPTSD after years of being married to a Malignant Narcissist and fear of betrayal! It is difficult to understand what a lifetime of trauma does to our mind, body and and soul. Tina grew up in a dysfunctional family, was abandoned by her own mother, that's the first line of betrayal in a person's life. If our own mother doesn’t love us, who else will? Every single human being who didn’t feel loved, cared for and protected by their mother and families feel betrayed. This betrayal comes not from our enemies but from our own carers, those who were supposed to love and protect us. The result is that we grow up not trusting the world and thinking we are broken, bad people, not good enough or not worth of love and happiness. We then go on and unconsciously choose relationships that mirror toxic family because they are familiar to the drama we experienced in childhood and we were never exposed to healthy dynamics. Tina married a malignant narcissist, who inflicted in her the most painful and traumatic form of psyco-emotional and physical abuse. Health professionals are unanimous when they say that leaving a narcissist or dysfunctional relationship can be more difficult than quitting a highly addictive drug. We become trauma bonded, there are addiction treatment centres for alcohol and drug recovery but few for love addiction or treatment for narcissistic abuse. Tina’s life of betrayal and trauma thought her that she could not be loved and could experience abandonment or betrayal by others at any time. Erwin was 16 years younger than her and despite her love for him, she did not think she was good enough and lovable. Erwin is Tina’s soul mate, she knew it the moment she sat eyes on him but her self protecting, preserving instinct, selfless nature and profound love for Erwin chose not to tie the knot in case he changed his mind and decided to leave leave her just like her mother and father did. He had to donate his kidney to her and tell her that NO, he did not want another wife or another life so that she could finally surrender to his love and protection! Oh how I love this woman and how I Love Erwin for loving Tina and taking care of her the way she deserved. All my love to you Erwin all trauma survivors out there. Tina's success and this love story tells us that there is happiness despite our difficulties, painful lessons and struggles.

Tina definitely experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACE study ) which lead to lasting trauma and poor health outcomes in her life, but I think that her mother set an example for her not to stay in an abusive relationship and left. Tina was never in foster care and remain in the care of her family, paternal or maternal I don’t think Tina ever had any psychotherapy that helped her resolve the harshness and reality of growing up black in America dirt poor sharecroppers and America’s racism never let her forget where she came from. Erwin love was heaven sent for Tina. 🕊️
