Thanks for that quick review. Like how you qualified it, that's good for hiking where weight & size are the issue.

That’s a pretty cool set up... I like it!

I find it to be the kit I reach for most of the time.

I like that set up too. Years ago I made a copycat version of ol’ Shugs cook kit. I’d trade out between a homemade alcohol stove and one of those tri legged esbit stoves. The whole kit was 12 ounces. The tablets do have a distinct smell for sure, but the trade off is worth it to me. Thanks for the post. Always enjoyable.

I found it hilarious when Shug talked about people wanting to take selfies with his cookpot. I think I have at least a dozen different homemade alcohol stoves. I use them sometimes times. I find this to be my main go to for a couple of days on trail though. It's just easy to grab and go.

@@journeyofbear6423 yea, I put my Stanley Adventure pot on the tripod esbit the most when taking dehydrated meals. Hey, while I’ve got you, would you like to trade channel stickers if you have any? If not, that’s okay. Glad to see new posts, sir. Be good.

Welcome back and out of hibernation ( After all it's Spring ). I've had a Esbit with the alcohol/fuel tab set up in the non stick aluminum. Not sure but I think I got it from the traveling trader right after the fort at St Augustine was built. Might not of been that far back but it was a long time ago. The beauty of it is it's simplicity.

I'm sure the Spaniards appreciated the simplicity. It would have allowed the more time to focus on finding the fountain of youth. 😁

@@journeyofbear6423 ... They found the next best thing which we slightly modified to become our Saturday night BBQ with Cold Beer. They had Sangria with there BBQ. Either is darn good. lol
