It’s all about your past relationships. Probably they’ve hurt someone and are still feeling guilty about it and de themselves as “monsters” and want to tell “hey maybe it’s not a good idea to be with me. I can hurt you emotionally and I don’t want to do it”. And it fits in every person. Everybody is at last a little guilty about something from a previous relationship. Also I see Debra singing from her own perspective, due to what I wrote. It’s an amazing song, a masterpiece.

Legend has it that they somehow missed the deadline for the staging and the LED screen, so they were forced to only work with the spotlights and the yellow/orange lighting. And it turned out to be just the right decision to work with such a simple and reduced staging.

Marc Exner I agree. The simplicity of the staging forces the viewer to rely on the story they are telling rather than relying on distractions. It was very moving.

To me, this song, without a shadow of a doubt, is the BEST Eurovision ballad ever. It was simple and both Morland and Debrah delivered a powerful performance. Like you, I also have a personal connection to this song. This song came out around the same time I was coming into terms with my sexuality, when I felt the worst about myself. Music and talking about experiences really help in healing. Thank you for sharing your experiences, Jake. Stay awesome!

I think Mørland’s character in the song killed someone. It’s never answered. If you enjoyed this one, you’ll love Estonia’s duet. And yes, I agree, you lay down all your armor (ha, Denmark 2017) to someone, and worry they’ll reject you, so you try to end the friendship/relationship to “protect” them from you, but they stay because they care regardless of the past. I see Debrah’s character negating his “I better let you go” and wanting to stay on her own volition simply because she wants to, and she cares. I know where you’re coming from, and it’s not a good place. I’ve been there too. It’s all about finding the right people who’ll stick around no matter what and who won’t care about the past, who’ll want to make a better future as friends, partners, etc.
@JakesFaceReacts6 жыл бұрын
Jose Rivera Thank you. I can see what you’re saying about her character coming in and basically telling him, “I know these things about your past, and I love you BECAUSE of them; not in spite of them.”

Another duet that WILL change your mind about duets is Norway's 1994 entry that's literally just called "duett" The song was written and composed by Rolf Løvland, the same guy who wrote and composed both Norway's 1985 and 1995 entries, both of which won the entire competition! And the duet is performed absolutely beautifully by Elisabeth Andreassen and Jan Werner. Rest in peace Jan Werner! Perhaps the greatest vocalist that has ever come out of Norway, and gone FAR too soon! If I recall, he died from heart related issues at only the age of 30. He has a rather sad backstory as well, but singing was his one and only passion in life! Please show him some love by reacting to one of my favorite Eurovision entries ever from 1994!

Speaking of MGP 2015, check out the 2nd and 3rd place songs from that year, “Thunderstruck” (my personal pick) and “En Godt Skekt Pizza” (total LOL) for your instant react video. They also used a live orchestra that year’s Nat. Final! Another LOL entry is “Laika” from 2016’s MGP! Part 2 of amazing break up songs that featured amazing duets is next. That’s Estonia.

Your comment about the song after it ended was so spot on, we sabotage ourselves when things are going out way simply because we're not used to it, and we end up pushing people amazing people away from our lives. Now get ready, next up, a song about someone feeling they're not good enough for their partner, and said partner telling them they're meant for each other, even though one of them walked out of the other's life already, oh emotions!

You share so much of yourself. It is beautiful the humble and felt way in which you reveal your vulnerability and your humanity. You are a beautiful person who definitely deserves to be happy. Do not sabotage yourself, Jake, let yourself go ... surrender to the right that you have to be happy. Thank you for the wonderful and beautifull reaction. Divine

Jake’s Face Reacts I could not tell you anything other than what I said! You said you carry a baggage from the past ... everyone carries a baggage from the past. Only those who did not live didn't have a past. No one has the right to judge. We should rather raise people's self-esteem and self-esteem as well. You said you were not a great person, or I might have misunderstood. Do not do this to yourself. You are aware of yourself and others. That alone makes you a great person. But I believe you are much more than that. Give yourself an opportunity to be happy, because in fact you deserve it. I've been in your shoes. I know what it is to think that we are not good enough at anything or to enyone and for that we do not deserve to be happy. We deserve it. You, me, and so many other people ... Be happy Jake. You make me happy and so many other people just because you are such a great person. You are human. And that means everything... People like you renew my hope in humanity. So do me a favor, and do yourself a favor ... Let yourself be happy, you really deserve it. Peace❤✌

You are right in your analyzes. The message is to have a past and it's better that he let her go. The past could be anything. He sais that his mind went blanc and that he lost control. Kjetil Mørland sais in an interview that the song is about the question of worth being loved because of this person's past: more like «I did this and that several years ago, I'm not worth to be loved.». Lots of people have something they have said or done that they are ashamed of later. Bad things or worse things. The reason for why it didn't be in the lyrics what his charachter on stage did (because this is more a role play) is that it could refer to what ever it was. He lost control. That's all. It's about not losing faith in yourself as person, believing that you are a good person because of your mistakes.

Next to Italy - this is my favourite from 2015. Musically speaking - it is flawless. I particularly got attached to the song after a friend send me an extended version - almost 6 minutes long - of the song where the instrumental version was combined with the original track - and wow! simply wow! I still have it on my phone and I listen to it quite often, it's just gorgeous from start to finish. They are both extremely good looking, I find, and indeed his voice is superb: sharp, precise, in full control and just beautiful to listen to. This is a work of art, and I love it.

The song was written by Morland as a solo piece, so it was not mend to be a duet. After they decided they decided to sing it as a duet they also decided not to change any lyrics so that they both sing the lyrics from the same perspective. And it remains a mystery what his/her big secret is.
