@@backroadjournals the furthest North I've been exploring is Sarita Lake, which is about a quarter way up. So yeah, the Island is Huge, really. I want to explore so much more.

Great video and recap Michelle & Holger. God we are so lucky to live on VI. We're just mapping out our 2025 plans so this is inspirational for sure. With the exception of our motorcycle adventure to Haida Gwaii the rest is all on the Island in 2025. Happy New Year to you both and thanks for the inspiration. Travel safe and hopefully we meet up on the Back Roads one day. 💯

We had the good fortune of being up at "the cove" with some friends during that huge aurora show in march of 2024. I stayed up as long as I could and took as many photos as possible. Eventually I just laid flat on the beach and took it in until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. Wish I could say we planned it that way but the truth is, we just got lucky. The sunset was also good!

All nice spots , it would be cool to meet up with local islanders like youselfs and others and explore the island more , I am born and retired on the island I call home and am about 20 years older than you guys so I have been exploring and camping most of the island for over 40 years , I don't even like to leave the island anymore .

Happy New Year you two 🎉 Also among my fave spots. Sadly #1 is no longer accessible after the big storm in November. We tried to go out there a couple of weeks ago and the road is washed out leaving a big creek at least 15 feet deep that I doubt will be repaired although I ran in to a friend who was trying to get there as well and he thinks the local First Nations may repair it so fingers crossed. #2 is on my all time fave list. I first camped there around 30 years ago when it was still an active logging camp and then again just this past summer a few times. Was lucky enough to spot several Orca from the beach. #3 is one I haven’t camped at yet but know the area and hope to explore it soon. #4 Although we haven’t camped there yet, we stop in often and enjoy its beauty. Sometimes in our camper rig and sometimes on my motorcycle. It never disappoints and we will definitely spend a night or two soon if we can fight the temptation of “the other place😎” #5 is another one we haven’t camped at yet but your videos have inspired us to to explore so hopefully will be able to make it soon. Thanks so much for the amazing videos. Looking forward to seeing more in 2025.

Oh man, we were just talking about going back to #1, but had a feeling that it might not be possible. That really sucks. We will certainly be back in the area of #3, there is so much more to explore out there. Thank You for following us along in 2024, and maybe we'll run into you on the backroads in '25. All the best and happy adventuring, Michelle and Holger 🙏

We do live on a magical island. There is an inukshuk built into a waterfall somewhere on the island...i'm curious if you've heard of it or may find it this year. This Spring, I'll try and leave a geo-cache thingy there for greetings and interest. Cheers from Victoria.

No, we have not heard of it! That sounds like quite the undertaking to find it. Challenge accepted 🙂! All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏

Have you guys found the "Nude Cabin", in the back mountains behind Tofino? kind of a small detour from Virgin Falls. As well as, what kind of drone are you using? if I may ask.

We've heard of it and have a pretty good idea where it is, but have not been there, yet. We are flying a DJI Mini 2SE. Looking to upgrade in the hopefully not too distant future. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏
