This is the best episode to come out in a while. Why? I like the rustic countryside. What really got me was the 9 minute mark. I'm hearing bossa nova music and again at the 11 minute mark. Astrud Gilberto passed away and she was the last of the greats. I'm happy to hear it again. Thanks I needed that!

Our favorite was the cheesy katsu, not because you ran out of arm length, but the owners seemed awesome. We felt touched because our parents had a similar type restaurant in Shimbashi. We definitely will visit them. Thanks for another spot Shizuka!

Love those remote onsen. Gunma is such a magical prefecture. I have visited shima onsen before and the takaragawa onsen close by are also unique but i miss the pizza. Should try next time. It's such a shame for an Italian like me who live in Japan part of the year to have missed that part of shima. Lol

So now at 7:15 we learn how Shizuka finishes up all those meals! It's the hidden cameraman with the big can who Hoover's up all the leftovers off camera! Do they share the alcohol too? So romantic, perhaps it's time they hire a camerawoman to keep Shizuka better in check.

I was pronouncing it with a “J” as well? 🤔 In romaji, it would be Ji-bu-ri (as I would say when speaking in Japanese), but the official spelling is “Ghibli” so I pronounce it with an “l” in this video, as one would in English. Just to clarify 😆
