This is one episode in which I do not care for any of the houses. The Mystery House simply does not have the garden it needs, since all the land is to the front and side. The remoteness does not bother me. The lack of a back garden is the deal breaker.

Thanks for another great episode!🙂 I had the feeling that none of the properties shown was right for them. I'm glad they found a home with a workshop already there in the end! I hope they are still happy and healthy in their "new" home.

Budget and what's on the market drives what buyers are shown. No one is trying to be mean or difficult. I'm sure they do their best to satisfy the wish list. Love Nicki. Great couple. Out of all of them I liked mystery best but the location was a bit too remote. Must be hard to downsize from a large 5 bed to a much smaller place.

Super episode - lovely couple, very interesting properties, and Nikki in a tank! It's a pity none of the properties shown had an existing workshop as this was obviously a priority for them, but I'm glad to hear they did find their dream property.

I wonder why so many of the houses shown to buyers on this show a attached or semi-detached. I really don't know why any of the houses are call "Semi Dethatched". Without question, they are in fact ATTACHED!

Just means attached on one side only. The most common houses in the UK are semis and terraces (also called row homes in the US). Terraces are attached both sides (unless it's the end one, then although it's technically a semi it's still part of the terrace run so is still referred to as 'end-terrace')

I suppose it could be called 'semi-attached', but basically it means the same thing - that it's attached on one side. Bear in mind that the UK is a relatively small country for its size of population, so land is expensive, and detached houses come at a premium. (The UK is 8 times more densely populated than the US.) In this show, people tend to want detached houses, but this is not the norm in the UK, and for people's budgets a detached property may not be available.

As an American I always smiled at "semi-detached" as being estate-agent-speak for "attached," by focusing on the word "detached." But the explanation above helps: how do you describe a house that's half attached to another? Half attached? Semi-detached? Yeah, even now "semi-detached" still feels like marketing language. Like the "no sugar!" drink I once bought, only to find it very sweet and packed with fructose.

It is likely the cost of houses are expensive and for their price range only attached are semi attached may be affordable

What an incredibly lovely couple! I'm so happy that they found their dream home. But I'm not surpised they didn't go for any of the proporties shown here: #1 so cramped in that you have neighobours in your lap in all directions. #2 was lovely, had a great garden and basically a workshop but I do understand them finding it a little too snug. The mystery house - if you take them somewhere truly remote, I at least expect there to be more outdoor space. And yes, there budget was not huge but apparently they could find something pretty perfect.

What a lovely accommodating couple. I wonder if there was a house with a workshop why ETTC didn't find it for them, especially as a workshop was a must for them. Really not one of those houses had one... I did wonder though also why the lady couldn't have used a BR for her craft room.. why did it have to be outside?? Well done anyway Nicki.. I smile also because ever house you seem to show has you stooping to get through the doorways yourself :)
