Although I really enjoy seeing the show-stopping houses often presented on ETTC, at eye-watering prices, it is nice to see more modest properties for first-time buyers. This couple were delightfully realistic and humble and it does make a lovely change. How ironic that they were content with modest-sized houses for their growing family when you often have empty nesters complaining that very spacious properties are too small! I also really enjoyed the pieces about the pottery and the old ship.

Such a great Daddy! His concern for his child is spot on. Property #3 - Not only a river, but sandwiched by a hairpin turned road. Definitely was beautiful, but unsafe for a family with small children. I'm surprised they didn't try to cut his commute down. I hope it goes well for their family.

House 1 was the best - house 2 way too close to a school (I have kids, still wouldn't want to live that close), and mystery was nice, but lack of garden space would be a no from me.

here in the states, there were so many extra-curricular and after school activities i told my daughter and son in law they should have moved into the school basement. they lived in their cars going back and forth from their home for their children. (no walking to schools/highways etc).

House #3 is just a small condo with no land. The kid will either fall off the balcony or drown in the creek. Sweet couple, and I'm glad they found something.

So often they show people the oddest houses, almost as if they haven't heard a thing the buyers have said. No one with a 2 year old son, for whom they wish him to have outdoor space to run and play, should be shown an old mill complete with RUSHING water and NO yard. Nor does it make any sense to show a tall man a house with low ceilings and doorways several inches shorter than he is.

I have never seen a mystery house that was so majorly unsuitable and pathetically inappropriate for a family! Yes, just have your little babies go play in the woods or the stream, they don’t need a safe garden! What a miss for this show! So happy this little family got a sweet little home with a fantastic garden! ❤

Host has a "Licorice All Sorts" t-shirt. Funny. House #1 is a semi-detached. 😝 I wouldn't want my neighbors that close. House #2 No bathroom upstairs. That's a deal breaker. Mystery House - it's a town house. Yearly service fee? Don't actually own the land. No garden.

Since they haven't been house shopping, they might not have any experience to be able to understand what their budget would allow them to get. I'm pretty sure that all of the homes that were shown to them were at or below their budget!
