You both are so inspiring! What an incredible transformation to your lovely farm. One of the things I appreciate the most is your emphasis on family and what a beautiful heritage you are building there. The Lord bless you both!

I totally understand when you say your farmhouse felt like home. Our farmhouse was built in 1890, and then expanded in 1920. It has a craftsman style feel, blends old and modern, and we absolutely felt like this was where we should be. It’s on 35 acres, and it’s a lot to manage but we love it. We have a similar story, lived in the suburbs for many years to raise our 4 kids, but felt like we needed more after Covid. We moved our while our kids were still young, (teens) and it has been an amazing journey. I enjoy your channel and how similar y’all seem to be.

You two exude Happiness, part of the reason I love watching your Channel. The other reason is that you’re living my dream. But at 73 & soon to be 74 and a widow for one year, that dream will probably never be realized. I’m so happy to watch your life, and live my dream vicariously through Waardenburg Family Farm. Loved the tour today. Blessings

You guys are the best! We're finally getting some rain here in upstate NY. We've been afraid to use our woodstoves as there have been so many large fires in the area. Looks like we can light them up. Yay!!! And snow is on the way! I have just designed my spring "Potager" Garden, that's a french medieval garden, when translated it means "for the soup pot". It includes everything from herbs, flowers and veggies. Kind of similar to your Market Garden. Looking forward to resting this winter - then kicking into high gear. You both are so blessed with lots of loving family members around you, and of course you inspire us to follow our dreams and add more love to the world. Sending hugs. . .and can't wait for the next video! xoxo!

It is amazing how much paint made a difference. Every room was warmed by the color change and is a perfect backdrop for all the wonderful cabinets. The before and after pics really show how much you have accomplished. Kudos to you both. You are both having so much fun in your retirement years. I'm so happy for you and way envious of that root cellar.

Thank you for this dream come true video. I’m thinking that it’s not so much the farm that makes it home but the abundance of the gift of family that you made with the love of your life that and the love shared by all that makes it home. I love that the grands have their own beautiful bedrooms and they feel free to wander the farm as an extension of their home. You are blessed. ❤

Both of you are a joy to watch! I love the transformation of your farm too! Your furniture choices are perfect! I grew up on a 1845 farm in the 70’s and I sometimes wish I could go back and make it work. My father did much the same as you have done with livestock and gardening, but my parents failed to see that they could make some side money selling their excess. Sadly, too much water has passed under the bridge for my age, as they say, but happily a 20-something is revitalizing that old farm. He is keeping the home and barns, and is dedicated to keeping it rural. My other half isn’t keen on farming or gardening, so I’m living vicariously through your adventures. Keep up the great work and I hope I can convince my husband to do a drive to PA during your farm stand season to buy some of your produce and jams.

I am struggling to move from the forever home (arts and crafts, Wright/Stickley style) we built to the family farm with the 1800s farmhouse. It hasn't been remodeled since the mid-century when the 2nd generation took a bedroom and made 2 closets, a bathroom, and added electricity(?). UGH! I just couldn't see how I was going to make it work. This tour of your lovely home with the just purchased pictures and keeping components like the old timbers and brick helps me with the steps for remodeling. It also helps in thinking about adding to a side or two. I can now see possibilities. Thank you for sharing your journey and how you brought it back to life "farm style"!
@waardenburgfamilyfarm47645 сағат бұрын
Wow, that will be an adventure. I hope that things we have done can help in some way. There may be ways to put on sideadditions in a way that they look more like they belong on the farmhouse. It would be a lot of work, but could be very rewarding and give you a beautiful "new" old home. Good luck.

I appreciate your appreciation!!! It’s a wonderful, beautiful house…but you have made it your family HOME…with sustainable land! I hope your children and grandchildren will always appreciate the country life that will teach them the homesteading values that you have been learning. As an 81-year-old widow who’s life is kind of opposite of yours (homestead first 40 years of marriage, town life now) I love being able to follow your journey now…thankful for technology that brings memories to me and others. I can imagine the thankfulness in your home next week! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Sooo beautiful!! Your hard work and artistry show! My husband was a 4th generation full-time farmer until we were 40 and the Lord called us to the city to be a part of and serve with a church. That was 20 years ago and we feel He is calling us back to acreage to grow a garden, have animals, etc. We have always canned alot and purchased pork from our Amish friend. We LOVE following your journey. We have been watching for several years for the right small farm and home for this next season of life. One thing we look for is a house with a bedroom and full bath on the main floor so we can remain in the home even as life changes and a bedroom on the second floor becomes more difficult to manage. I thought of a bedroom when you showed your parlor. It might be something to consider for that room for the future. Thank you for sharing here, we love your videos and seeing a bit of your lives and hearts. God Bless!!

Thanks for the kind words. If God calls you to the city, you go to the city and if He's calling you back to the farm life, he'll provide the perfect property. The two rooms we didn't show you have a room that was the mother-in-law's bedroom. There is also a handicapped bathroom. That was definitely a factor in our long-term time on the farm. It's good planning ahead to have that in mind. Thanks for watching!

YOu have done a great job. When we bought our farm, so much of it is old and needs to be redone. We had major electrical, plumbing, a total redo of the downstairs (took it down to the studs) because of mold. Our favorite room is our great room that has the wood burning fireplace insert and windows on all sides to overlook the lake and the sunsets over the lake. We still have so much to do, but funny thing is, we are content if nothing else gets done. We always remind ourselves of our farming heroes Aunt Margie and Uncle Gordon who were content all the days of their lives in their farmhouse.
