@@othmanbk5252 You lie a lot. You always claim that the president of the Polisario is Moroccan and that the Sahrawis are Moroccans. If the Sahrawis are Moroccans, as the Moroccan regime says. Why do you reject the referendum, which is considered the finest form of democracy and a fair and transparent expression of the opinion of the Sahrawi people? The bottom line is that you are just occupiers. For a land that is not yours, no less or more, and what you are trying to do is just a hollow maneuver. Jay Carney this is clearly not the same, going by your logic Morocco was not a legitimate country until February 1956 when it gain independence from France by that time Spain had complete control over Western Sahara when Morocco gained independence it only included the French and Spanish protectorate which was back when Morocco was a protectorate of both Spain and France and Western Sahara wasn’t included in there meaning that technically Western Sahara should belong to Spain since the were the first to claim it in 1884 and they are no historical documents that suggest that Western Sahara was a integrated part of Morocco before it became a country so I’m going to disagree with you there .

The land was in fact occupied by Spain and never was a sovereign nation before. It has always been part of Morocco. But in 1975 the Moroccan people organised a march (The Green March) and liberated the Moroccan Sahara from the Spanish (Franco The Fascist Dictator). But General Franco had one last card to play before being kicked out of the Moroccan Sahara, which was to promise part of the population independence and also agree to the Moroccan masses their Sahara being returned to them. So when he left he knew this would happen.
@1337BananaL33TVostok

Hahaha "green march" which came FROM Morocco, organized by the government to demand this land. The fact is that they saw a weak native population ruled by declining empire, so their objective was to get their voice overheard the Sahrawis and use excuses that previous dynasties ruled this land, but it had never incorporated until they invaded it. So cowardly as they are, they saw a clear chance of opportunism. The Sahrawis on the other part never got the chance to a referendum and it's certainly not Morocco to decide their fate.

The Sahara People and northern Moroccan people are one people and one needs remember that the Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia ect...) was one nation until it was divided up by the French and Spanish (DIVIDE & CONQUER, The old British method) (I know, I am British) Franco created this division because a united Morocco is not in the benefit of Franco's Spain. Now if the Polosario just didn't want to be ruled by the Moroccan Government then I understand that because the Moroccan Government is corrupt and do not serve its people and that's why the north of morocco hates the government also. but a divided nation is not in the best interest of the Sahara or the whole of Morocco. The best thing is for all the people, North, Central and south (Sahara) to unite, take control and create a united nation for all the People.

Let's see who have been fighting Spain from 1860 to 1975. In 1860, Moroccans lost against Spain during the Battle of Wad El Ras which led to the occupation of Sahara. In 1898, a Mauritanian Sahrawi fighter and Imam, Ma El Ainin, pledged allegiance to the moroccan sultan of that time and received weapons from him so that he could fight against France in Mauritania. He is buried in Tiznit, Morocco. In 1957, Moroccans from Guelmim and Sidi Ifni tried to liberate Sahara during the Ifni War against Spain and France. 70's Polisario was created. END OF THE DEBATE.

For those of you who don't know why this is a hard-to-solve conflict. After French & Spanish occupation was kicked out of Morocco then Algeria. The two nations had a problem deciding on the borders. Algeria suggested that both nations should stick to the border drawn by occupation while Morocco refused to give up on "his lands" (many documents & maps show the real size of Morocco). Then the Moroccan people organized the famous "Green March", where Moroccans walked (yeah, really walked) from all places of the country to the Sahara (was occupied by Spain there) to liberate these lost territories. As a Moroccan, I'm ready to give up my last breath fighting for this just cause and end the enemy's dream of dividing the people of two brother nations !

The sahrawi people of Western Sahara are not Moroccan. They literally have their own culture and dialect separate from Morocco and that’s why they want independence. Morocco’s claim to Western Sahara is antiquated and does not respect the people living there RIGHT NOW. Why doesn’t Turkey claim most of the Middle East if historical claims are so important to you? Why doesn’t Egypt claim north Sudan since those were previously lands of ancient Egypt? You see historical claims should never be used as a pretext for colonization/invasion because then the whole world would be at war using that logic. The Western Sahara border drawn by Spain at least more closely respected ethnic and linguistic differences between the kingdom of Morocco and the tribal sahrawi people.

Algeria was never included in the negociations, that left them with this grudge because they've always dreamed to have a pipeline that would go straight to the Atlantic, thus their creation of the so called "polisario", they armed them, gave them refuge and let them loose on Morocco. most sahrawis are moroccan citizens, their leader(abdelaziz) who's been in that position for some 30 years(so much for democracy) was born in Marrakech, Morocco. try interviewing sahrawis without an escort from the so called Gov official, you can not(North korea all over). The real occupation was European countries that invaded Morocco and disperse its land.. Morocco is one of the historical empire ever existed on the planet.. Its geographical areas are way bigger and longer than than the one we're seeing now. And to be honest there's nothing called the Sahrawi Arab republic because north Africa isn't even Arabic it's for Berbers. Also, the sahrawi front was created by Algeria to have a gate to the Atlantic ocean but unfortunately their dream didn't come true. Anyways Morocco is taken over Sahara and they're enjoying its natural wealth. That's reality. If they refuse joining to Morocco they'll be sentenced to living in tents forever.

For you guys who are not from the area , ask those so called independent Arabic country - prior to Spanish occupation where was their country located ? What’s was it called ? Who was their king / rulers? What was their capital? Any historical monuments? Any historical correspondance between them and other countries ? any major battles ? Against who ? Any victory? Loss ? I’m sure the only answers to my previous questions will be either none or N/A. If you read in history book related to that area you will find out that those tribes were never in that area to begin with , they just moved in the late 17 centuries and terrorized the locals by raiding their villages and acting like a desert pirates,. This is all villages in south Morocco are built like casbah or small castles to defend themselves against those invaders

Lucius Albinus Yah this is the first time i have ever heard of this war, I think i asked my geography teacher about that country. And he just said it was contested territory.

TheEmhalo contested territory means war. Morocco totally claims it to the point where if you enter Morocco with a world map showing Western Sahara as separate then they will confiscate it if you refuse to give it up the they deport you on the spot.

TheEmhalo I was taught that it was simply part of the desert an nobody lived there, so that's why it was striped and not colored in. (this was when I was about 9, never after that bothered about it. Until I saw this)

Western sahara should be entirely part of Morocco, because without Moroccan rule it would just become another radical islamist heaven, that would destabilize entire region.

A complete ignorance from the journalist, who did not even think about making a very small research about the real situation, and tried to bring some arguments from the opposite side. I stopped watching the video from the moment you said IZDIK was ran by polizario, well it is not, some members of polizario were there, but it does not make them, leader of this protest. There were some violence at this event, however, again the journalist, couldn't even google it, to find many videos where Moroccan policemen were killed and tortured and nobody from polizario was injured. The policemen were even unarmed :)

By recognizing Morocco's proprietary right to Western Sahara, President Trump has shown great leadership and remarkable insight into the region's political history. Historians as well as anthropologists know only too well that the ethnic minority from whom the Polisario separatist group descends, namely Banu Hassan, did not set foot in Western Sahara until 15th century, long after so many other Berber and Arab nomadic tribes had marked their presence in the region. This explains why the Polisario are both ethnically and linguistically different from native Berbers, and why they have more in common with the Yamanis of the Arabian Peninsula than any other North African native tribe. The Polisario should be grateful to Morocco for offering them a home and allowing them equal access to the region's natural resources, and perhaps more grateful now than ever to be offered partial autonomy. Encouraging them to claim independence is synonymous to inveigling North African communities of France to fight for an independent state of their own in the heart of Europe, which no European of sound mind would ever tolerate. From a legal perspective, the Polisario’s claim to Western Sahara, a land which formed part of Morocco prior to its occupation by Spain, is void ab initio under Public International Law, for it is based on fraudulent misrepresentation. President Trump knows that there has never existed a contract of allegiance between the Kings of Morocco and the Polisario. Any ties of such allegiance as referred to by the International Court of Justice were between successive Moroccan monarchs and the region’s tribal leaders of of whom the Polisario constituted no part. These facts on their own render the Polisario a rogue Front and any claim to Western Sahara void ab initio. Equally importantly, Mr Tump, having access to sound legal advice, knows that since title to Western Sahara has already transferred back to Morocco under the treaty of Madrid, the Polisario has no case and no claim either. Had title not transferred back to Morocco, the Polisario might have been able to seek a judicial remedy to their self-inflicted misfortunes, notwithstanding the fact that international law lacks the ability to bind states. Whatever any Algeria-paid, attention-seeking opportunists say or do will not change facts on the ground, nor give Algeria access to the Atlantic ocean on the back of the Polisario Front. All they can deliver is a mere dance to tunes dearest to Algeria’s heart, which they do well so long as they get paid. The sum of their performance, to put it another way, is nothing more than virtual obiter dicta.
