Merveilles En Papier

Күн бұрын

Some of us need to find ways, habits, tools to escape this modern world driven by technology and devices of all kind and reconnect to a past made of paper, ink, old books, silence and details. I show you how I do it in my own humble way in my art and everyday life living in an old apartment in an old french town.

Isn't it interesting how many people are actively slowing down with technology in their homes. I'm noticing more and more that we are starting to take up activities, like writing letters, mending/making clothing and soft furnishings, pulling away from the craziness that is our world. Lighting a lantern at night to sew or read a book, instead of having bright overhead lights on and noisy TVs, is much more preferable. Thank you for another wonderful episode Laetitia 😊 xx

Yes I think it's a good sign that some of us are saturated with this technology, and dare doing things differently at least all the things we can control in our homes.What a difference it makes long term in our quality of life, Thank you Liana :)

Such a scenic walk to the bakery. Love the old narrow roads in Europe. I miss the breads the most. Celebrating and emulating the past is so important in an otherwise fast pace world. Really enjoyed this little journey away. Many thanks for putting so much effort in your videos. 🍃

I appreciate your time to reply. I believe you would like the small but beautiful illustrated book called PAPA GATTO An Italian Fairy Tale by Ruth Sanderson. It's about a very well dressed cat,( he is the prince advisor) his kittens and quest to find the best caretaker for them.( after his wife passed away) 😀 It's published by Crocodile Books. Have a nice week

When perusing your next antique market I highly recommend trying to find an antique ink wells set your beautiful decor would suit either glass or pewter ink wells. I love writing with my 1928 Parker that has a beautiful flexible stub nib that gives similar line variation to your beautiful quill pen. When on one of your walks keep an eye out for swan or goose feathers and make your own quill pens.
@Merveillesenpapier
@Merveillesenpapier Жыл бұрын
I do have one on my desk actually I put my ink sometimes in it, but I find it more convenient to use it from the ink bottle.Oh I didn't know some parker pens could do that too, that's interesting ! I tried to write with feathers but the ones we can buy in shops or online don't give the same result than the ones they were using in past centuries. Sharpening these feathers was a real art that seem to have disappeared, the ones I tried to sharpen myself were even worse....

It's another inspiring and lovely video. Yes, a more meaning life style. Going back to our roots, I most certainly need to do this more, and we in our lives, don't we?! Your collections are so intriguing and ever so beautiful. You live in such an awesome town with architecture, so it's easy to go back in time. Ahhh, ink and quill in hand with the sound of quill scratching across the paper is heavenly. And who doesn't love the sound of a ticking clock?! Thank you again so much for such an inspiring video. Hello Choclette Question? Are your workshops more than directions and video demos? Do I need to supply my own art media and supplies?
@Merveillesenpapier
@Merveillesenpapier Жыл бұрын
Thank you Roksanna ! yes I know for us europeans, to time travel simply wandering in our towns is so easy yet few people really pay attention to it, Clochette sends you a cat hug. I'm not sure I understand your questions the workshops are made of detailed videos,with all the informations, links, supplies required, sometimes printable documents are available too , people can interact and ask their questions under each videos we also do live video calls the first weeks after the launching of each workshop. I'm not sure if it was your question though !.

I love living near to very old streets too, it’s a joy to see buildings that are still there after centuries isn’t it? Your shoe house is very beautiful, it reminds me so much of the nursery rhyme of the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe. I loved this rhyme when I was little!

Hi Laetitia. I love watching all your videos and also, aside from your beautiful artwork , I love how you decorate your apartment ! Are all or most of your furniture antiques ? I love everything French and am trying to decorate my bedroom in a French style and I have gotten many ideas by watching your videos so thank you very much for that I'm even listening to classical music for inspiration ! Keep up your great work and Thanks again !

Thank you! In the precise french meaning of the word "antique"/ Antiquités no, none are.They are all late 19th or copies of furniture of the 18th but made in the mid20th century , une antiquité would be precisely made in the 18th for example would cost several thousands at least 1 thousand euros each piece and totally out of my budget, and too precious when you live with a cat... Glad if my videos inspire you for your home ! Thank you !
