I thought same thing that specimens may slide off platforms. Pethaps a piece of felt glued to platform? The nap of the felt would act like velcro to prevent slipping off yet would not damage the rock. Just a thought.😊

Use Museum Putty or Wax to prevent slipping

It depends on how warm it is. I've often seen her out and about when it's raining.
