Well, you may have just convinced me to get one of these for my band (Low Forest). That both-split/tapped distorted sound is what I've been looking for. I like the LP look with the 25.5" scaling for the extended range on the low B. Thanks dude!!

Good review! I have the 258 but I tried the 257 too. The 258 is a little tighter sounding, probably the longer scale.

No pedals. It's all amp sims and cab IRs! Most likely I was using the Ninja amp sim with the Frieghtbox SM57 IR and the Cenzo Townshend IR blended.

Great video and demonstration. You practically sold me on it, it's the exact sound I'm looking for! I got a question though I already got the EC256 which I'm LOVING. I'm self taught (take that for what you will haha) and only play guitars for recording purposes, so it was a perfect budget fit for me, but I was also looking for a darker tone for more heavy music. Originally the idea was to do a drop a setup on the 256, but I've been told it's not just as simple as switching out the strings, since it also requires modifications and it can be a bit expensive as I can't do it myself, so is it better to get a 257 alongside the 256 so that there's options?

I appreciate that! To answer your question, I prefer having both since it's easier to just pick up the 7 string when you need it versus having to set up a 6 string for those lower tunings. 7 string string sets obviously also have the thicker lower strings, which will help with tuning and keeping chugs and stuff tight. Get the 257 along side the 256 and build that arsenal!

Great review! How the neck of this LTD stands in comparison to Schecter necks? Is it significantly thinner? Do you have any thoughts on that?

Thank you! As far as comparing it to a Schecter neck, I would say this one is a fair bit thinner. I don't say that in any kind of bad way, but in my opinion, it's thinner than any of the Schecter 7 strings I have played.

@@Electric.Flamingo Now that's a relief! :) I have a Schecter Blackjack ATX C-7 and I want to sell it and buy the EC-257+some better pickups. I was looking for something with thinner neck, also the Eclipse shape is just beautiful. Schecter is awesome but the neck is a little too much for me with it's thickness, also the pickup configuration being 2 active humbuckers doesn't do it for me anymore. Thank you for quick reply! I don't have a possibility to play the LTD before buying, so that info is very important to me :) Your channel is fun to watch, I will surely stick around!

@@Electric.Flamingo I hope so! I'm fond of Les Paul style guitars and this one have that additional metal taste to it ;) And it's a sevenstring! In the end it looks like I didn't have enough luck either, but when I bought my Blackjack I was mesmerized with the sound, the looks and overall quality and I didn't think that the neck is not what I'm looking for. I thought that it I will get use to it, it's my first sevenstring after all. Now I know better what I want and well - LTD looks like the way to go! And you are very welcome, you really make great content! :)

I am plugging into my Focusrite 2i2 and running amp sims and IRs. I think for this review I used Amplitube 5, bypassed the cabinet in there and used NadIR with some Mesa IRs, I believe.

According to the spec sheets on the major retailers that sell these websites, yes it is a Tone Pros bridge and tailpiece.

@@Electric.Flamingo it is imposible you find a Tone Pros stock bridge in this price range as a brand new guitar. They are pretty expensive. This EC 257 comes with a chinese brand stock bridge called SUNG-IL
